Hi, I am Yoshie. I am a national government licensed English speaking Guide. I used to work for multinational companies and served as an interpreter for several years and travelled around Japan with coworkers. I love plants, nature, travelling as well as finding good places to eat! I am also a communicative person. After having lived in Tokyo for some decades, now I live in my hometown, Fukui where you can have a great experience of Zen buddhism in the head temple of the Zen sect, Eiheiji which was founded in 1244. Fukui Dinosaur Museum is very popular regardless of age. It is one of the world's three largest dinosaurs. Echizen is also well known for Japan's handmade crafts including kitchen knives, washi paper, lacquer wares, Tansu chests and pottery. Seeing craftsmen's work right in front of you makes you excited and impressed. I have been travelling Kanazawa since my high school age so I know well about the town to show you around as well as Shirakawago, a day trip from Kanazawa. I can bring you to those popular destinations from my base, Toyama city. These are the examples of my tour: Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama Takaoka - Gokayama - Shirakawago - Takayama Toyama - Tateyama Kurobe Alipne Route - Omachi (Nagano Pref.) During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history, and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request. I am originally from the Philippines and I've been living and working in the Hokuriku region for almost 7 years. I definitely consider Kanazawa as my home in Japan. Kanazawa is known for many things including gold leaf, a rich samurai history, its beautiful gardens, delicious seafood, and historic Geiko (Geisha) culture. I would love to introduce these things and so much more! Did you know Kanazawa is also home to the oldest sake brewery in the region? What about the local ceramics and laquerware? You can also participate in different workshops like traditional Japanese sweets-making class, gold leaf pasting, Kaga-yuzen (local kimono brand) painting, and sushi-making using local ingredients. There are many beautiful known spots and a lot of hidden gems in the area and I can't wait to introduce them to you. One of my hobbies is photography and I will surely capture your moments in the city to make your stay extra memorable. I'm excited to meet you in the Golden City, Kanazawa.

Hello, my name is Shoten, please call me Sho. I was born in a local area in Toyama prefecture. I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. After graduation, I continued to study English at a local English circle. In international activities, I also guided foreign people around Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Gifu Prefecture. After retirement, I work as a guide interpreter and a translator. The Hokuriku region has many sightseeing spots, including beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, and traditional crafts like Takaoka copperware and Inami woodcarving. “Excellent Kanazawa sight seeing day”
Having been so impressed with Yoshie’s communications and the planning of our craftsmen visits in Echizen, the previous day, I asked her to plan us a site seeing day in Kanazawa. As with Echizen it was expertly planned to take account of the potentially high July heat and humidity!!! Just enough information, and some intriguing questions kept us motivated in the 36C temps and 46% humidity. Her choice of restaurant for lunch was another excellent choice. She was also very helpful with suggestions for a Tea Ceremony which we did the following day, and the less well-known Incense ceremony. Very highly recommended.

“Excellent Tour Guide”
We had the best day with Yoji! We were a group of four including my 87year old mum in a wheelcheer - Yoji could not do more for us - including pushing the wheelchair - so definitely went above and beyond. It was super hot on the day and he was so understanding about our need to find airconditioning regularly. Aside of that - we had an excellent day seeing the sites. Highlights were the fish market and the local restaurant that he took us to. Thanks Yoji you were the best!!

“Raphael is amazing ”
We had (great) guides in Seoul and Tokyo, but Raphael is next level. His depth of knowledge is really incredible. He's funny, highly professional smart...I could go on and on. I highly recommend a visit to Kanazawa, which is a great little city, and Raphael really brings it to life.
