Robert B.
Welcome all! My name is Robert, and I’ve lived in Japan for over 20 years here in Tochigi Prefecture, the home of Nissan performance heritage and some of the most beautiful driving roads in Japan. This experience was created from two passions: the Nissan Fairlady Z and the incredible scenery, culture, and atmosphere of Nikko. Most visitors only see Nikko in a rush as a crowded day trip from Tokyo. I wanted to create something different. A slower, more immersive experience where guests can truly feel the mountains, the roads, the atmosphere, and the spirit of Japan from behind the wheel of an iconic Japanese sports car. Our flagship car is the Nissan Fairlady Z NISMO, built here in Tochigi and designed to connect driver and road in a way very few modern cars can. This is not a race. It’s not about speed. It’s about the feeling of driving through the cedar roads of Nikko, climbing Irohazaka, discovering hidden places, enjoying local food, and experiencing Japan in a more personal and unforgettable way. For guests joining the 5-person group experience, the goal is simple: great roads, great scenery, great conversation, and memories you will never forget. Whether you are a lifelong car enthusiast or simply curious about Japanese car culture, I hope this experience becomes one of the highlights of your time in Japan. Feel the Mountain Spirit!

My expertise combines international experience and strong local knowledge. I lived in Australia, where I developed English skills and learned cultural differences. This helps me explain Japanese culture clearly to international guests. I was born and lived 10 minutes from Oya. I know the area well, including its history and hidden spots. For over 7 years, I have guided international visitors and shared local culture. I focus on clear communication, safety, and well-organized experiences.

Hello! I’m Your Friendly Guide to Japan’s Kanto Region I’m based in the beautiful Tochigi Prefecture and absolutely love sharing Japan’s amazing culture, history, and hidden spots with visitors like you. Before doing tour guiding, I was a public school teacher, so I’m great at making stories come alive and helping you really connect with the places we visit. I speak Japanese at an advanced level (N2), and I’ve spent a lot of time exploring Japan—from living a year in the peaceful town of Kamishihoro in Hokkaido to wandering the bustling streets of Tokyo. This means I can give you insider tips and deep insights that go beyond the usual tourist trails. *What I Offer* I mainly guide around the Kanto area, which includes Tokyo, Yokohama, Saitama, Ibaraki, Gunma, and of course, Tochigi. Here are some of the fun tours I can take you on: - **Utsunomiya Cultural Immersion:** Spend a day discovering the unique charm and tasty eats of Utsunomiya. - **Tokyo All-in-One:** Explore both East and West Tokyo in a single day for a full city experience. - **Anime & Pop Culture Tours:** Tailor-made adventures based on your favorite shows, games, and characters. - **Kanto Day Trips:** Visit iconic spots like Nikko’s stunning temples or Kamakura’s historic sites. I also love guiding in other parts of Japan, especially Kyoto—I’ve seen every World Heritage Site there! Plus, I often run tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and more, all easy to reach by train. *Customize Your Journey* Every tour is flexible and designed just for you. To make your trip even more memorable, I’ll create a free, beautifully crafted photo album with music from your tour—perfect for sharing or keeping as a souvenir. Ready to explore Japan in a fun, relaxed way with someone who’s passionate about showing you the real stories behind every place? Let’s chat and start planning your perfect adventure!

Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. Since I have science and technology backgrounds, I can give you a tour of scientific or technical things as well..

Tochigi Tour Reviews
Jeaney Y.
“Customised Tochigi tour”
From the planning stage, Andy is attentive to detail, responsive and flexible to your needs. He made excellent suggestions on how best to plan the itinerary, including pickup from our ryokan in Kusatsu Onsen and best use of time for best spots. Strawberry picking in Tochigi was the highlight of the trip; extremely delicious. Detour to Nikko was worthwhile, and the gyoza before the train ride back to Tokyo was fulfilling indeed. if you are after a unique, not so crowded and pleasant sightseeing, Tochigi has alot to offer and Andy is the best guide!

Thank you for such a glowing review, Jeaney! I’m thrilled that the strawberry picking in Tochigi was a highlight—it really is some of the best in Japan! It was a pleasure planning the logistics with you to make sure we made the most of every hour, from the Kusatsu pickup to that final gyoza meal. I’m so glad you found the detour to Nikko worthwhile. Thank you for recommending Tochigi to other travelers — I hope to see you again for more adventures!

“Great time with Jack”
Jack guided my clients through the history and temples of Nikko. Thanks to him, they were able to visit places that would have been difficult to explore on their own. They truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Japan. Thank you, Jack, for helping them create such a wonderful memory of Japan. He is a highly recommended guide!

Hi Aiko, I'm sorry not to respond sooner. I was swamped due to the cherry blossom season. And I was in the hospital to check up on my health. Your clients were very nice people. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that they didn't eat lunch. They asked me to skip lunch both days. We had a Macha break, though. They didn't have any coffee and tea, but they love Macha and Sencha. It was challenging to find one of those places in Nikko and Mashiko. Thank you very much for your comment. Jack
