Orizuru Tower
Orizuru Tower is a 13-storey observation building in central Hiroshima, standing directly beside the Atomic Bomb Dome. Opened in 2016, it offers the closest elevated views of the Dome, Peace Memorial Park and the surrounding city, with Miyajima and the Chugoku mountains visible on clear days.
The rooftop deck, Hiroshima Hills, is open-air and unglazed, with wooden decking and seating. Below it, visitors can fold a paper crane and add it to the Orizuru Wall — a glass shaft running down the building's façade that is gradually filled with cranes from visitors worldwide, echoing Hiroshima's enduring symbol of peace. A spiral wooden ramp connects the upper floors to street level, offering changing views of the city on the descent.
UNESCO Site | Peace Memorial Park & Museum
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park stands near the hypocenter of the atomic bombing and serves as a place of remembrance and reflection. The park is home to several significant monuments, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims, and the Children's Peace Monument.
Located within the park, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum presents the events of August 6, 1945, through personal stories, artifacts, and historical exhibits. Together, the park and museum convey Hiroshima's message of peace and the importance of a world free from nuclear weapons.
Today, the park remains one of Hiroshima's most visited and meaningful sites, welcoming people from around the world to learn, reflect, and remember.
