Itinerary
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Kita-Kamakura Station (or your hotel)
Daibutsu Hiking Trail
This is a trail that goes from the low-lying mountains of the northern Kamakura area all the way to the Great Buddha. Along the way we'll enjoy some peaceful natural scenery, some beautiful views, and we'll even visit sme quaint mountain shrines/temples.
The Great Buddha
800 years old and the second-largest bronze statue of the Buddha in Japan. This big guy has been exposed to the elements for about 600 years, ever since his house (the former temple) was destroyed in a fire.
Lunch!
For vegans: this part of Kamakura is one of few parts of Japan that has plenty to offer vegans. Huzzah!
For non-vegans: Kamakura has a lot of delicious food for you. I'll share a few of my recommendations on the day of the tour.
Enoshima
We'll engage in some souvenir shopping and snacking along the main drag on the island. Then, we'll head up the mountain and visit Enoshima Shrine and the Enoshima Sea Candle Tower, which offers amazing views of the coastline. After that, we'll head down to the Iwaya Caves to enjoy some ocean scenery. The views at sunset here are absolutely fantastic!
Enoshima Station / Shonan-Enoshima Station
After we're done exploring Enoshima, I'll leave you at the station. From here, you can walk down to the beach and enjoy the sunset, go out for dinner, or head back to your hotel. Have a nice night!
If you just want to go back to your hotel in Yokohama/Tokyo, I recommend taking the monorail. It's pretty fun, and you can catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji from it on a clear day.
Ending Point
