Hakone Open-Air Museum
The museum is built in Hakone with the aim of harmonizing nature and art. Many art works are placed on the vast site of about 70,000 square meters, surrounded by trees, grass and mountains.
Picasso Pavillion is located in the museum. 116 of Picasso's works are displayed.
Komagatake Ropeway
The ropeway is the only means of transportation to get to Komagatake, 1356 meter high.
The 1,800-meter ride from Hakoneen on the shores of Lake Ashi to the summit of Mount Hakone Komagatake takes only 7 minutes one way. The panoramic view of Hakone spreads out like a box garden with Lake Ashi in the center, the majestic Mt. Fuji.

He was very flexible about accommodating last-minute changes to our itinerary, always had interesting historical background and other facts about the places we visited to share with us, and was indispensable when it came to translating and helping us navigate around.
