Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine is located on the southwestern foothills of Mt. Fuji and the head shrine of 1,300 Sengen Shrines in the country.

09:50 a.m. Meet at SPDP (S-PULSE DREAM PLAZA)/Shimizu Port (Shimizu Port is across from the building) (Access: Take a free shuttle bus available
from East Exit, JR Shimizu to S-PULSE DREAM PLAZA)
(Tips: You will be able to get to SPDP at 09:45 if you take 09:35 shuttle
bus, departing JR Shimizu Station, East Exit)
10:00 a.m. Leave Shimizu Port for Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine
(Fujinomiya City) by taxi-Shimizu Interchange-Tomei Express Way-Fujikawa

Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine is located southwestern foothills of
head shrine of 1,300 Sengen Shrines in the country. Ho-n-de-n, or the main
shrine building with its two-story gate tower was built by Ieyasu TOKUGAWA nearly 400 years ago. Please note, in the shrine grounds, spring water gushing out from Mt. Fuji may help us purify our heart and soul.

Ya-ki-so-ba, or stir-fried noodle with meat and vegetables, is one of the most representative local specialty dishes.

You’ll see Mt. Fuji from the pine wood of Miho very clearly on a sunny day

14:45-15:45 Kunozan Toshogu Nihon Daira (Nihon Plain, where you can appreciate fine views of Mt. Fuji, and Miho pine wood and make a shortcut to Kunozan Toshogu by taking a ropeway.
15:45-16:15 Descending 1159 stone steps, from the top to Kuno Yamashita
16:30 Jirocho SHIMIZU’s birth place and his relic hall (drop off taxi)
17:00-17:30 Walk back to Shimizu Port・SPDO and to JR Shimizu station.
Important message from the guide
Update of the site: I will be in Nagasaki, Kyushu, in August, tentatively, August the 4th(Tue.) through the 6th (Thur.). I am happy to show you around "hidden Christian sites" with terraced paddy fields, "TA-NA-DA". The sceneries imprinted in Venezia come to my mind when I stand near the Hirado pier. Our itnerary (meeting at Sasebo at 9:00 and finishing there at about 17:30) includes Whale Museum, one of the main local industries of the time, too. I will help you with information on other tourists’ spots on the beaten track. If interested, please e-mail me for the particulars. (as of March 10, 2020)
