Is this your second visit to Tokyo, and do you want to explore like a local instead of just hitting typical tourist spots? This tour is perfect for you! As a resident, I’m excited to share my favorite hidden gems.
My tour offers an authentic glimpse into Tokyo’s weekend life.
I recommend Sendagaya and Kitasando area, for a deeper look into Shibuya. The Oharai Experience, a ritual to dispel bad luck, provides meaningful engagement with Japanese culture.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Somewhere in Shibuya-ku
- such as Harajuku/Kitasando station ※The meeting time can be anytime from 9 AM to noon
Grab a cup of coffee at a café
First things first, let's grab coffee or tea to start the day. This area is famous for its cozy cafes. Let me recommend the best ones based on your preferences.
Strolling around the city
Although it depends on the starting point, I highly recommend beginning with a stroll around Harajuku and the backstreets to get a feel for the atmosphere. From unique outdoor gear and stylish home decor to Japanese-made apparel, there are countless small shops that are sure to excite and inspire you."
Lunch
I would be happy to recommend places from my favorites! Any kind of Japanese food, such as sushi, ramen, or Japanese BBQ, could be an option. Let's discuss what to eat for lunch before the tour starts!
Shrine visit and Oharai experience | Hatonomori Shrine(or Meiji Jingu Shrine)
You'll have the opportunity to participate in Oharai, a traditional Japanese ritual ceremony aimed at repelling bad luck. This ceremony is commonly performed during significant life events, such as moving or starting a new journey, as well as during challenging times.
You don’t need to have any religious affiliation or perform specific actions; I’ll guide you on how to participate, ensuring you feel comfortable and engaged. This experience offers a meaningful glimpse into Japanese culture and its spiritual practices.
If we pick Meiji-Jingu Shrine, please expect to take longer time that going to Hatonomori.
Additionally, if you're interested, we can also arrange experiences such as a tea ceremony, Japanese flower arrangement (Ikebana), or pottery-making lessons. Please feel free to discuss any particular aspects of Japanese culture that intrigue you.

“Two day tailored Tokyo tour with Fumie.”
We had the most amazing two day tour with Fumie, we sent a list of places we wanted to visit and Fumie organised the itinerary, made bookings and gave us an orientation before we headed off on our first day. Fumie was well organised and was able to adapt our schedule as necessary to ensure we had a wonderful experience in Tokyo, making adaptations and suggestions as we immersed ourself in the history and culture of Japan. She was fantastic company and a joy to be with, not only guiding us but we really felt looked after in the busy and chaotic markets and temples. We just wish we could take her with us to experience the rest of our Japanese tour. Thank you very much Fumie for such a wonderful time in Tokyo!

“What a great adventure into the maze of Tokyo”
Let me start by simply saying that we had great 2 days in Tokyo with our guide Fumie. It was our first time in the city, and it's overwhelming. Just purely navigating from place to place can be crazy. But what wonderful insights we received, walking to the Shrines, the artful tea ceremony, the "hot spots", the market, the heights of the Sky tree. It was fulfilling and informative and we were gratefull to have Fumie guiding our path. Would absolutely recommend.
