Hakone is a beautiful area near Tokyo, famous for nature and lakes.
If the weather is clear, you will see Mount Fuji.
We will visit Moto-Hakone, a small village with stores and the Secret Box Museum.
We will go to the Hakone Jinja shrine, with the famous torii on the lake.
We will take a trip on Lake Ashi by boat.
We will see the Owakudani area, famous for volcanic black eggs.
The tour will allow you to see the most beautiful places in Hakone, leaving from Tokyo by Romancecar.

Meeting Point
Shinjuku station (Details to be announced), Odakyu Line
- 8:00 a.m. - Departure from Shinjuku by Romancecar - Romancecar Odakyu train from Shinjuku station. - Arrival at Hakone-Yumoto around 9:30 am. Cost: about 2,470 yen per person (basic ticket + Romancecar supplement)
Hakone-Yumoto to Gora
- Local train to Gora
- Funicular to Sounzan
- Ropeway to Togendai
- Views of mountains, valleys and views of Mt. Fuji if the sky is clear
All transportation is included in the Hakone Freepass (5,000 yen per adult, 1,000 yen per child)
Owakudani and the black eggs
Owakudani is an active volcanic area with smoke and sulfur smell. Here you can:
- See the natural hot springs in the valley
- Taste the famous black eggs, cooked in the volcanic waters
- Take a short scenic walk in the area
- Enjoy the view of Mount Fuji, if the sky is clear
Cruise on Lake Ashi
- From Togendai, depart by pirate-style ship
- Scenic lake crossing (about 30 minutes)
- Arrival at Moto-Hakone
Activities and walk in Moto-Hakone
Moto-Hakone is a quiet and picturesque area. Here you can:
- Take a walk along the lakefront with a view of Mt. Fuji
- Visit the secret box museum (Hakone Karakuri Museum).
- One can stop at cafes, restaurants souvenir stores and local sweets
- You can relax in a park or small garden along the lake
Free time to explore and take photos
Visit to Hakone-jinja Shrine
- Short walk from the center of Moto-Hakone
- The shrine is nestled in the forest
- You visit the famous red torii on the water
- Sacred and very atmospheric place, great for photography
Return to Hakone-Yumoto
- Direct bus from Moto-Hakone to Hakone-Yumoto station
- Duration: approximately 35-40 minutes

Romancecar train to Tokyo
- Direct bus from Moto-Hakone to Hakone-Yumoto station
- Duration: approximately 35-40 minutes

What the tour includes
- Pick up and return to your hotel in Tokyo (in the 23 wards - to be arranged)
- Italian tour guide with JNTO course: Accompaniment throughout the tour.
- Local tips: Tips on best food, souvenirs and photos.
- Cultural information: History and trivia about places visited.
- Transportation: Travel arrangements (but not tickets for clients and guide).
What the tour does NOT include
- Meals: Food and drinks are not included (for guests and the guide)
- Hakone Freepass: 6,100 yen for adults, 1,100 yen for children (includes use of transport in Hakone: bus, boat, ropeway, etc.)
- Romancecar surcharge: 1,200 yen per trip, so 2,400 yen round trip (for a comfortable ride with reserved seats)
- Entrance to the Hakone Open-Air Museum: 1,900 yen with pass discount (optional and on request)
- Any meals, drinks, and personal expenses
- Other entrances not included in the pass
- Shopping: Personal expenses for souvenirs or purchases
Tour Important Information
Important note on Owakudani
The Owakudani area emits natural volcanic gases, such as sulfur and other gases. The smell is strong, similar to rotten eggs.
It is not dangerous for most people, but can be risky for:
- People with respiratory problems (asthma, bronchitis, etc.)
- People with heart disease
- Pregnant women
- Infants or very elderly people
In these cases, it is recommended to avoid the visit or stay only for a few minutes. The area has clear signs and safe areas to stop.
Tour notes and availability
This tour is flexible and customizable. I can adapt the program according to the time available and the interests of the group.
Upon request, stops such as:
- The Hakone Outdoor Museum (near Gora), famous for its outdoor sculptures
- The Venice Glass Museum or the Museum of Polish Art
