Hi, I am Hiromi, a National licensed guide in English. I studied in England and U.S. during my 20s and 30s. I graduated college in NY. While I lived in overseas and experiencing different culture, I had chances to look at Japanese culture from the outside. And I realized its richness and uniqueness. Experiencing different culture was like discovering my own culture.
I live west part of Tokyo with my husband. Whenever we have time we like traveling. Also I have been practicing tea gathering (tea ceremony) about 10 years.
In Tokyo, there exist traditional culture as well as pop culture. There are so many places I would like to show you.

“Amazing Tea Ceremony ”
Hiromi brought some tranquility to a bustling city. After 3 days of exciting sightseeing, we were ready for this event. After a relaxing walk in the park we travelled to an authentic Japanese tea house where we learned the process from a tea master. Very Zen and learned how important this is to their way of life.

In this tour, I take you to my favorite Japanese Garden; Koishikawa Korakuen created in 1629. This beautiful garden represents 4 different sceneries; river, mountain, countryside, ocean as you walk around the central pond. After that we move to the place for tea ceremony. Tea master prepares tea by highly stylized manner called 'Temae'. You enjoy Japanese sweet and tea in a very settled atmosphere. The first is Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, where a stroll around the central pond reveals four beautiul landscapes: a river, a mountain, countryside, and the ocean. The second is Rikugien Garden, renowned as the 'Garden of Japanese Classic Poems' . Both gardens, created by influential feudal lords of the Edo Period (1603-1868). Those gardens provide a serene experience while offering a glimpse into Japanese history and culture.
