Hello :) I am Macco, a licensed tour guide. I love eating and traveling, so I call myself "EATraveler". I'd like you to experience "tasty (oishi)" Japan, so my tour will be full of nice food.
I was born and grew up in Osaka, and now I live in a small fishing town called Manazuru (near Hakone area) after living in Tokyo for more than 10 years. I fell in love with the beautiful scenery of the sea and mountains of Manazuru, and I really enjoy a relaxing life here. So I'd like to show you around this cozy town, which will make you feel nostalgic and relaxed.
I also work as an editor & writer. My recent works are mainly books about food and drinks, such as fermented food, dried food, cocktails and bars, Japanese sake, coffee, cheese, tea, as well as agriculture and food issues. Based on this background, I'd like to offer you amazing food experiences in Japan and enjoy EATraveling together :)
Looking forward to seeing you in Manazuru!

Manazuru: Walking Tour with Tasty Local Food and Scenic View
“An Amazing and Unforgettable Day Trip!”
My father and I had the pleasure of spending an entire day with Macco, originally we were only going to tour Manazuru but after being informed there was a local festival going on in the nearby town of Yugawara we knew we didn't want to miss out. It was absolutely perfect, Macco is incredibly sweet and helpful and really made us feel like a local in Manazuru. She really knows everyone and made us feel right at home. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the fast-paced city life in Tokyo The food in Manazuru is delightful with some of the best fish we had during our stay in Japan. Despite its small size, there is lots to explore in the town (A favourite of ours being the shrine all the way up the hill, the view is gorgeous) and I have no doubts that no matter your interest Macco will be able to find something for you. The Yugawara Yassa festival was wonderful as well, it was so cool seeing all of the dances everyone had prepared and the festival food was delicious as well ^w^ Thank you so much again for the wonderful time Macco and I hope to visit Manazuru again soon!

Thank you for your review. I'm so happy that you liked Manazuru and enjoyed the tour as well as Yassa Festival in Yugawara. It was my pleasure to be your guide and spend a great time with you two. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon...! Best regards, Macco
“Wonderful time with locals”
I went to a summer festival at Iwa beach. Illuminated by the enchanting lights of lanterns and floating lanterns on the sea, I danced the Bon Odori with the locals to the sound of drums. Macco taught me the simple steps of the Bon Odori and introduced me to the locals, making me feel like a part of the festival. It was a fun, exotic, and very stimulating experience. It was wonderful to not only observe but also participate in a traditional Japanese festival. Afterwards, I enjoyed delicious fried noodle from a food stall. The evening ended with many beautiful fireworks launched from the sea, making it an unforgettable summer memory.

Kaori san, thank you so much for your comment and good review for me. I'm happy that you had a great time at the festival. Hope you'll visit Manazuru again for another unforgettable experience. Macco
“Feel like a local villager in Manazuru”
I really enjoyed the local food and markets of Manazuru. The dried fish, in particular, was very flavorful. My only regret is that I could not bring home some tofu due to the high temperature. I would like to come back again! It was impressive that Macco was greeted by almost everyone in Manazuru. By walking with her, I felt myself being accepted by the people of Manazuru. Thank you Macco!

Matsumoto san, thank you so much for your comment. I'm happy that you enjoyed Manazuru and local cuisine. Next time, I'll bring you to the tofu place where you can have lunch with fresh tofu. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon. Thank you. Macco
