Meeting Point
Shinagawa station (Takanawa West Exit)
- The Takanawa Exit of Shinagawa Station, on the station's west side, where pick-up & drop off of passengers.
Lake Ashi Cruise
Lake Ashi pirate ship cruise offers stunning, panoramic views of Mt. Fuji if the weather is fine and the iconic floating vermilion torii gate of Hakone Shrine. This cruise takes about 35 minutes to reach Togendai port. My car will wait and pick you there after dropping off the ship departure port.
Owakudani ("Volcanic Steam Valley")
This volcanic crater formed 3,000 years ago in Hakone. It features active sulfur vents, hot springs and a learning centre to learn how hot spring is being processed for hot spring bath. Kuro tamago eggs are boiled in natural sulfur water which turns the eggs shells black, are a popular snack to eat in believing to prolong your life by seven years.
Lunch at Kowakudani or Yumoto restaurant
There are many eateries to choose from. From burger, pastry and bakery。Japanese buckwheat noodle set lunch to Taiwanese many good reviews restaurant.

Hakone Shrine Floating Torii Gate
The "floating" torii gate of peace, is a spectacular photo spot located on the shores of Lake Ashi . Depending on the water levels, the base of this massive gate appears to be submerged, creating a mystical, floating effect. This gate's shore is surrounded by pristine cedar forest with a beautiful shrine
*Please note that due to long hour queue to be exactly in the centre front of the gate, photo taking is only allowed from a close distance.
The Hakone Open-Air Museum
One of the best museums in the region, blending world-class art such as Pablo Picasso collection, stunning mountain backdrops, and massive world class statues are sculptures collected primary during Japan prime economic era, the Bubble Economy. This world class museum exhibits artifacts across 70,000 square meters of beautifully landscaped grounds.

“Fun day in Tokyo”
My husband and I enjoyed a day’s touring with Tan before meeting up with our larger tour group the following day. With jet lag and a recent mobility issue hindering us, we fully appreciated the visiting little known yet special and off-the -beaten path sites by car with Tan at the wheel. We also feasted on wonderful food at one of Tan’s favorite restaurants. It was a great way to begin our time in Japan!

“Your shortcut to great experiences!”
First time out of the country. First time in Japan with my 2 children. I didn’t know any Japanese, but my daughter knows a ton. Well, my daughter was crazy nervous/scared to engage with anyone…so that didn’t quite work as planned lol. Tan saved the day! We ate with the locals WITH EASE. Visited a beautiful city we didn’t think to go to while getting a history lesson! Tan was a great friend to have for those couple hours! I would absolutely use her again!
