This mikoshi is carried once every three years during the annual Fukagawa Hachiman Festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, which is held around August 15th every year. Lunch
Speaking of Fukagawa, "Fukagawa Meshi" is famous.
``Fukagawa Meshi'' is a fisherman's dish with roughly chopped green onions and raw clams simmered in miso and poured over hot rice.
Fukagawa flourished as a fishing town during the Edo period.
In particular, many high-quality clams and oysters were caught.
They were considered Fukagawa's specialty.
``Fukagawa Meshi'' is delicious and nutritious and can be made quickly during busy fishing trips.
It was popular as a daily food for fishermen.
Kiyosumi Garden
It is a garden connected to the Iwasaki family, who founded the Mitsubishi Zaibatsu. It has a ``circular forest garden'' structure with a large pond called Oizensui at the center. The walking route that revolves around the pond takes about 40 minutes.
There is a barrier-free course around half the west side, you can stroll around with a wheelchair or stroller.
Kiyosumi Garden is loved as a pine and stone garden. Although it has a calmer atmosphere compared to the garden, which is full of seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms, roses, and autumn leaves, there are many types of plants, and you can enjoy beautiful scenery each season.
Fukagawa Edo Museum
The exhibition is about houses in Fukagawa, Edo in the 1830s. It is attractive that each house's family composition and occupation are set in detail, and the daily necessities that suit each person's lifestyle are arranged. You can enjoy a realistic view of the people who lived in Fukagawa Saga Town. You can touch and admire the daily necessities.
In addition, regular reenactments of annual events are held by common people in Edo, such as New Year's decorations, and monthly events are held to reenact traditional performing arts.

“Best Guide”
We came to Japan for 21days and 5 cities. We had arranged multiple guides arranged in each and Nao was the best of them! He arranged the route and what we were going to see. Told us how we would get there AND had detailed maps in English of the area! Very good English skills and very knowledgeable of Japanese history and relevance of the sites to that history and showed by diagram where fit in Japanese history timeline. Very much enjoyed the tour and Nao as a guide! Highly recommend him!
