About Tour Guide Naoya U.

My Name is Naoya.

I was born in Tokyo in 1952.

After my graduation from Keio University, I joined a Japanese bank.

Mainly I was assigned international business and stayed in London for three years.

At the age of 52, I moved to a Japanese manufacturer company and had worked for 11 years.

As a personnel manager, I engaged in hiring Indian graduates.

Then for two years, I went to Tashkent in Uzbekistan as a JICA senior volunteer.

I taught "corporate finance" at Tashkent Financial Institute in English.

I got the guide license in 2017, After I came back to Tokyo, I am working as a volunteer guide,

especially in Shinjuku.

I hope to create special and deep tours in which tourists are interested but by now they were not

able to gain access to.

For example; Visit to various Universities, Visit to narrow streets in Tokyo, Visit to feel Edo (Now and Then)

My hobby is playing the guitar. I hope we are in peace through music.

I am also interested in Art, History and cooking.

My major subject is economics and finance.

Reviews

Excellent Tour

We had an excellent tour with Naoya. He had great communication to create a custom tour for us. He arrived at our hotel lobby. He spoke excellent English. He was very informative about the many sights we visited and provided informative pictures on printouts. He took photos of our family. He took us to great shopping areas and helped us with ordering lunch. It made our day a breeze. We really enjoyed our day and Naoya made it very special. Thank you.

Hi, Michelle I'm glad you enjoyed today's tour. It's wonderful that you planned the itinerary yourself. I customized the tour to your preferences. We even visited the Pokémon Center and Nintendo in Shibuya for the children. I hope you had a great time and are satisfied with your trip to Japan. Please come back to Japan again! We'll be waiting for you. NAOYA

Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Kamakura and Hakone

Nao was my tour guide for two days. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the history of Japan. When I requested for a customized tour of Hakkeijima and Kamakura, he responded in a timely manner and answered all of my questions. We visited two smaller temples in Kamakura with one temple featuring a beautiful bamboo grove and the other temple had very impressive stone steps covered in moss. I would not have been able to visit these two temples without Nao's assistance. Our visit to Hakone involved using many different modes of transportation and Nao was able to keep us on schedule even though we experienced a train delay due to an electrical problem. I would highly recommend Nao as a tour guide for Tokyo and cities such as Yokohama, Kamakura and Hakone.

Hi, Nan Thank you for a wonderful two days. Even the two temples in Kamakura, which aren't particularly well known, drew many international visitors. We enjoyed matcha tea and sweets. At Hakkeijima, we saw the beluga whale show; we were amazed at how well-trained they were. Hakone was a bit of a challenge from the morning, with long lines for rides. However, we were lucky enough to complete our planned itinerary. You gave me some pickled plums as a gift; they were delicious, and my wife loved them. Thank you so much. Please come to Japan again; I look forward to seeing you. Naoya Usuda
