The name Chidorigafuchi come from the shape of the moat, which looks like a plover bird (Japanese: Chidori) with its wings spread into the sky.
This moat is the biggest one at Imperial Palace. This is one of the most famous cherry blossoms viewing spot where about the cherry blossoms of 170 trees can be found from late March to early April. Yasukuni shrine
Yasukuni shrine was established to commemorate and honor the achievement of the people who dedicated their precious lives for their country. The name “Yasukuni” given by Emperor Meiji represents wishes for preserving peace of nation.

There are souls of men who made ultimate sacrifice for their nation to join the various wars since the war occurred in 1853 related with Meiji restoration to World War 2. These people, regardless of their rank or social standing, are considered to be completely equal and worshipped as venerable divinities of Yasukuni shrine.

Kashima H. was a great guide and communicator. Before we arrived he told us the cherry blossoms were early this year so with our permission he would take us to several spots of late blooming trees. We were happy with the spots chosen and enjoyed going on the Tokyo subway with him too. He found a ramen restaurant for us at Ueno Station. We very much enjoyed the tour and recommend Kashima H. to be your guide.
