Meeting Point
At your hotel in Tokyo
- I will wait for you at your hotel lobby in Tokyo (23 wards).
Asakusa: Senso-ji Temple
Our first stop is Senso-ji, the largest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. I will tell you about its history and legends.
You will also learn how to purify yourself before entering, pray, and draw an Omikuji (fortune).
Ueno and Ameyokocho
Ueno is a historic district famous for its large park, museums, and traditional atmosphere. In Ueno Park, we can stroll among cherry trees, visit the Kaneiji Temple, and admire the Shinobazu Pond with its swan boats. The park also hosts the Ueno Zoo, the oldest zoo in Japan, and important museums like the Tokyo National Museum.
Ameyokocho is a lively market located under the train tracks. Here, we find street food stalls, spices, fresh fish, and affordable clothing. It’s the perfect place to try takoyaki, yakitori, or exotic fruit, and shop while hearing the voices of vendors calling out to customers.
Omotesando
Omotesando is an elegant avenue in the heart of Tokyo, known for its modern architecture and luxury boutiques. The street is often compared to the Champs-Élysées in Paris for its sophisticated charm. Here, you'll find international brand stores, refined cafés, and art galleries.
In addition to shopping, Omotesando also offers unique buildings, like Omotesando Hills, a shopping complex designed by Tadao Ando. The area is perfect for a relaxing walk through window displays and hidden corners with small independent boutiques and stylish restaurants.
Takeshita Street
Next, we visit Takeshita Street, the birthplace of Japan’s trendy youth culture. Here you can find colorful fashion, street food like cotton candy and potato spirals, and enjoy bubble tea or pet animals. It’s also a great place for fun gachapon games.
Meiji-jingu Shrine
We will then head to Meiji-jingu Shrine, located in a peaceful forest in the heart of Tokyo.
The spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife rest here. You will learn the traditional ways to wash your hands at the Temizuya, say a Shinto prayer, and make a wish on an Ema tablet.
We will also draw an Omikuji for meditation.
Shibuya
We continue to Shibuya, Tokyo's largest entertainment and shopping district. You’ll experience the world-famous Shibuya Scramble, the busiest pedestrian crossing.
I will share the heartwarming story of Hachi, the loyal dog, and take you to a viewpoint where you can photograph the famous crossing.
Shibuya Station
The tour concludes at Shibuya Station. I will explain how to return to your hotel on your own
Ending Point
Shibuya Station

“Best way to see Shinjuku by night ”
Simone was awesome! He went over and above my expectations and led me through parts of Shinjuku I didn’t expect. He also went beyond just surface information and really gave in-depth history and facts about the area and culture which I really appreciated. I’d 100% recommend him to anyone looking to see Shinjuku through a different lens. Thank you again Simone!!
