“Great knowledge, flexible and an expert at what he does.”
Atsushi was a great guide. We had some different needs as we wanted to get familiar with the train system, pick up some pre purchased train tickets and see some essentials of Tokyo if that was possible within a 4hr window. Atsushi wove together an experience that got us familiar with the train system and etiquette, helped us pick up tickets at Tokyo Station, wander through the gardens of the Imperial Palace and visit the major Shinto Shrine before a visit to madness of Shibuyu Crossing and a safe delivery to our return train. What was even better was that he managed to include some essential insights into the Japanese culture, traditions and psyche during those experiences without making it sound like a lecture tour. We appreciated his ability to weave all of that together with the added complication of a rainy day. A great experience put together by an expert.

“Hitting the highlights”
We booked Atsushi for a full day tour of Tokyo's big tourist sites on our first full day in Japan and Tokyo. He proved to be very a knowledgeable, amiable and thoughtful guide with an excellent dry sense of humor. English is excellent. In addition to seeing the top sites (like Meiji Shrine), Atsushi gave us invaluable "101" knowledge on how to effectively navigate Tokyo. Would highly recommend.

Once upon a time in Asakusa: Handicraft & Samurai
The Edo period, when Tokyo became the capital, is often seen as the peak of Japanese art and culture! Temple architecture, woodworking, woodblock prints, porcelain... I will use traditional handicrafts to illustrate the history and lifestyle of the people of Tokyo. Who were the samurai? What difference with a Ninja? How were armors crafted? I am also going to teach you all you need to know about those fierce warriors in front of a large collection of authentic weapons & armors.
