My name is Yukiko. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. Thanks to increasing number of repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my current main job. I was born and raised in Tokyo. After passing National tour guide examination, I have been worked as a professional tour guide since 2015. I've experienced to guide in various area near Tokyo as well as in Nagano, Kyoto and Osaka. I can do a tour for a wide range of clients such as solo traveler, couple, family, mobility challenged client and a big group. I am a mother of eight years old girl. So I'd be glad to welcome families with young children as well. I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand (2005-2006). My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide. I also have a license of the National Examination for certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor, Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. There are some common thinking between Tour guide and Nurse, both jobs are required to put myself into their shoes. I'll make plans considering their physical conditions and will arrange any supports after discussing about the tour. I've already experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed. I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime. I'm looking forward to meeting you in my tour! Arigatou!
Since I was born in a family of Buddhism priest, reiligion is just a part of everyday life to me. Please feel free to participate in some rituals as a memorable experience in Japan. I can also arrange the tour to a small unknown temple where my brother is a priest, though it's located in coutryside of Fukushima prefecture, a little bit far from Tokyo. And off course, I can guide Tokyo, Narita, Hakone, Mt. Fuji ...and so on. The attraction of Tokyo could be said as mixture of something new and something old. Please feel many attractive dimenshions with me! I had a chance to live in the Philippines for 5 years, and at that time people are so kind and generous to me. That's the reason why I am a tour guide now to do something helpful for guests from all over the world. So please don't hesitate to tell me your choice, I'm willing to serve you and I'll be with you almost everywhere around Tokyo and Japan!
KON-NICHI-WA (Hello) I’m Mitsuru (Mark) Sakai . I was born in Hokkaido, the north part of Japan. I moved to Seattle, USA when I was five and the name MARK was given by my classroom teacher then. It was also when I started to learn English, though it was a kid English, still I may using. I came back to Japan when I was eleven and I experienced difficulties adjusting to new circumstances. It was tough one. Though, It forced me to notice the differences and similarities that lay between the two countries. Definitely these experiences became my precious back bone to be a tour guide still today. My favorite subject is Japanese history especially regarding Shinto, Buddhism and samurai-culture. Also I love great architectures and traditional gardens. But my most favorite thing to do above all is to make your trip ever enjoyable. I’d like to make you feel relaxed, safe and secured. I wish I could see you someday soon.. Thank you. Mitsuru Mark Sakai. National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.
I was born and grew up in Yokohama. I used to work in Tokyo for more than 20 years. I became the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in English in 2013. At first, I had attended a volunteer group which provided a tour of the Imperial Palace East Gardens until 2015. I guided more than fifty times in the garden as a volunteer and studied about Japanese history and culture. Based on this experience, I became a tour guide of TripleLights in 2015. Since then, I have guided more than 500 tours in Tokyo as well as Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Kyoto, Nikko, etc., while improving my tours. My tours are very flexible and I always do my best to customize them according to the interests of my guests. I studied about the places and will provide you knowledge to appreciate them more deeply than just visiting there by yourself or a member of group tours. I like foods and I know many restaurants which provide typical Japanese lunch with reasonable price without waiting too long. Therefore, I am sure that I can provide you the best tours customized to your interests. It will be my great pleasure to help you to enjoy your stay in Japan. So please be my guest!!
