I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Hello :) I am Macco, a licensed tour guide. I love eating and traveling, so I call myself "EATraveler". I'd like you to experience "tasty (oishi)" Japan, so my tour will be full of nice food. I was born and grew up in Osaka, and now I live in a small fishing town called Manazuru (near Hakone area) after living in Tokyo for more than 10 years. I fell in love with the beautiful scenery of the sea and mountains of Manazuru, and I really enjoy a relaxing life here. So I'd like to show you around this cozy town, which will make you feel nostalgic and relaxed. I also work as an editor & writer. My recent works are mainly books about food and drinks, such as fermented food, dried food, cocktails and bars, Japanese sake, coffee, cheese, tea, as well as agriculture and food issues. Based on this background, I'd like to offer you amazing food experiences in Japan and enjoy EATraveling together :) Looking forward to seeing you in Manazuru!

Hello! I'm Leandra, and I'm stoked to be your guide as we dive into Japan. With seven years under my belt living here, I've become your trusted source for all things related to exploring this amazing country. Whether it's navigating the bustling city streets or trekking through scenic nature trails, I've got you covered. I have extensive experience guiding excursions through mountains, inner city hidden gems, underground music scenes, and scenic day trips in the vicinity of Tokyo. When I'm not guiding, you can catch me indulging in my hobbies of digging into Japanese history, hitting up local shrines, lacing up my running shoes for a jog, scouting out new restaurants, or hitting the trails for a hike. Originally from sunny SoCal, my roots stretch back to both Japanese and Mexican heritage, with a sprinkle of samurai lineage thrown in for good measure. So, if you're ready to dive into the real Japan, away from the tourist traps, join me for an adventure you won't soon forget. Let's do this!

Hi, I am Ryoko, a Oyama Area Licensed Guide Interpreter. Oyama is located in western place in Kanagawa and known as a sacred tourist spot for Edo commoners. Based on my experience working for an international company, I try to respect and have a dialogue with people from various cultures. I offer ideas for visiting spots together, eating, learning, and experiencing Japanese life in Isehara, as well as in the surrounding Kanagawa, and Tokyo area, which are difficult for foreign tourists to enter alone. Also, since I love books so much that I run a reading community in Isehara, we can consider plans that tie in with literature and legends. •Japanese History •Religions(Majored in Islamic culture at university) •Love to find good restaurants &cafe •literature

Kanagawa Tour Reviews

An Amazing and Unforgettable Day Trip!

My father and I had the pleasure of spending an entire day with Macco, originally we were only going to tour Manazuru but after being informed there was a local festival going on in the nearby town of Yugawara we knew we didn't want to miss out. It was absolutely perfect, Macco is incredibly sweet and helpful and really made us feel like a local in Manazuru. She really knows everyone and made us feel right at home. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the fast-paced city life in Tokyo The food in Manazuru is delightful with some of the best fish we had during our stay in Japan. Despite its small size, there is lots to explore in the town (A favourite of ours being the shrine all the way up the hill, the view is gorgeous) and I have no doubts that no matter your interest Macco will be able to find something for you. The Yugawara Yassa festival was wonderful as well, it was so cool seeing all of the dances everyone had prepared and the festival food was delicious as well ^w^ Thank you so much again for the wonderful time Macco and I hope to visit Manazuru again soon!

Mia B.

Thank you for your review. I'm so happy that you liked Manazuru and enjoyed the tour as well as Yassa Festival in Yugawara. It was my pleasure to be your guide and spend a great time with you two. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon...! Best regards, Macco

Wonderful time with locals

I went to a summer festival at Iwa beach. Illuminated by the enchanting lights of lanterns and floating lanterns on the sea, I danced the Bon Odori with the locals to the sound of drums. Macco taught me the simple steps of the Bon Odori and introduced me to the locals, making me feel like a part of the festival. It was a fun, exotic, and very stimulating experience. It was wonderful to not only observe but also participate in a traditional Japanese festival. Afterwards, I enjoyed delicious fried noodle from a food stall. The evening ended with many beautiful fireworks launched from the sea, making it an unforgettable summer memory.

K S.

Kaori san, thank you so much for your comment and good review for me. I'm happy that you had a great time at the festival. Hope you'll visit Manazuru again for another unforgettable experience. Macco

Basic Kamakura/Enoshima Tour

Kanagawa
8 hours

I cannot recommend Kunio enough!

Planning our day with Kunio was easy and efficient through the messaging app provided by GoWithGuide. He was prompt to respond to questions and he accommodated our tour requests to the tee. From the moment we met him, he was full of interesting information and cool facts that really enhanced our experience. Despite the scorching heat, he was prompt and flexible, willing to deviate from our original itinerary to accommodate the needs of our tired kids. Our shopping "break" on Komachi-dori Street was extended, which gave the kids new energy. They indulged in snacks and tested their luck at a local shop where they won stuffed animals. He was fantastic with them and took us to a fabulous soba restaurant that we never would have gone to on our own. The pace of the tour was just right, allowing us ample time at each stop without feeling rushed. And to top it all off, he surprised us with gifts to commemorate our Kamakura visit. His level of care and attention to detail truly made our day unforgettable. I highly recommend booking a tour with him - you won't be disappointed!

Annette H.

Dear Annette san, Thank you very much for your favorable comment on our Kamakura Tour. I am glad to know that you and your family fully enjoyed the tour with me. It was a joyful tour for me also to receive cheerful family like you. I look forward to seeing you again in near future. Kunio
