I have traveled to more than 40 countries. I always have spent happy time with local people. To return their favor, I have become a Kumano Kodo guide to help tourists enjoy Kodos. I am a government certified guide and have guided over 50 international clients in 6 years. I can help you with Kumano expertise, risk management, and hospitality skills I am a plum farmer and make umeboshi now. So I would tell you stories of as well as Japanese farming and food. Only local guides help you finding spots to rest in today's weather, locating a clean public restroom, and choosing the best sashimi for the season. Most importantly, you can acquire useful information without having to glance at tiny screens, not with phones but with local guides.

Aichi Tour Guide - Yoko S.

Yoko S.

Japan

Hello and Welcome to Japan. I was born and raised in Japan, but grew up in an American environment, receiving an education in both English and Japanese from preschool through high school. For the past 30 years, I’ve lived in Nagoya, a city located between Tokyo and Osaka. Nagoya is the capital of Aichi Prefecture and the 4th largest city in Japan, well-known for being a major hub in manufacturing industries, particularly automobiles and aviation. With over 30 years of experience in global business, I’ve had the privilege of traveling extensively to North America, Europe, Mexico, Australia, and various countries across Asia. Along the way, I’ve led many tours and, for the past 10 years, I’ve been exploring the beautiful mountains and many non-touristy locations surrounding Nagoya. These hidden places can be far less touristy, offering the chance to breathe in fresh, clean air and immerse yourself in nature. I’m committed to offering you the most comfortable and personalized tour experience possible. If you have any specific places you would like to visit or a customized itinerary, you’d like me to arrange, please don’t hesitate to let me know. As a licensed driver in Japan, I can legally drive you during your tour if you approve, and my car is fully insured for all passengers. The vehicle used will be the same model shown in the photo for private tours. I look forward to helping you experience the best that Japan has to offer!

Makoto is marvelous!

We arrived at Kyoto around noon and met Makoto, aka Mac. We visited several shrines/temples: 1) Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine (it’s famous for its thousand torie gates); it’s the most popular spot In Japan according to Trip Advisor; 2)Arashiyama Area----Bamboo grove, Tenryuji temple with beautiful garden; and, 3) Togetsu-kyo Bridge(Moon-crossing Bridge). Everything was great!!! MAC is marvelous!!!

Osaka Highlights, Best for the first timer

Osaka
7 hours

Outstanding way to become familiar with Osaka

We met Hiroyuki at the Osaka train station and had breakfast. From there we travelled to the Osaka Castle where we spent considerable time learning about the building and the history behind it. From there we visited the Shitenoji Temple and learned a lot about the differences and similarities between Shinto and Buddhism. Lastly we had a blast visiting the Nippon-bashi (sub culture center), where we had okonomiyaki. Delicious!! Hiro is a patient and very knowledgeable person!!!

Well-designed well-balanced thoughtful private touring

The trip was designed with care and consideration. It was well balanced between the "must-seen" and the hidden spots, between cultural heritage and grand nature. The length of the trip was adequate and the commute was smooth
