The most popular sightseeing spots in Akita. You can enjoy Japanese authentic culture and beautiful sceneries, such as several kinds of cherry blossams in spring and fall foliage in autumn.

Toru did a great job of helping us pick sights to see as well as lunch location. We had a good discussion with the head of a Buddhist temple. The Oga Peninsula was a great place to visit. We were also able to see the competition during the day for the Akita Kanto Festival. We definitely recommend him to others and would utilize his services in the future.
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in Akita. there're lot more to see here. Hope see you again!
Toru met as planned in the arrival hall and quickly guided us to the shuttle transport to the train station, because a special train had been laid on by Akita town, and the first 100 passengers were free! We wre amongst the 100! Our guide was easy to talk to and his English was good. He showed us the sites of Akita, which he & I had discussed via e-mail. He was very concerned that we visisted a Japanese restaurant that served gluten free products because my wife is a ceoliac. He succeeded and we had a delightful yet inexpensive meal. My wife and I were very happy with Toru as our guide.
Hi, Geoff Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that you missed cherry blossams. Hope you come back again. Thank you and best regards, Toru
Toru was a great guide and very polite and professional. He organized a plan for a day in Akita for our group of 4 and it was very well put together. If I could provide constructive criticism there were a few areas to improve upon. First there was about two hours in the vehicle where Toru could spend more time talking to us about the area and points of interest. Second the sake tour was off a closed brewery as it was not sake brewing season which runs during October. That is out of his control but knowing this would have led to us choosing a different itinerary. Lastly the samurai experience I thought would have involved practicing with real swords however this was a performance by actors as part of a show. Despite missing out on the intended activity we found the experience very enjoyable but would have liked to be better informed prior to going. Overall I would recommend Toru comes up with a list of tour options with detailed explanation of each so the customer can make informed choices. That said Toru spoke excellent English and even Thai for my Thai girlfriend. We went to a great restaurant that felt very authentic and toured a great samurai house. Good job Toru.
Hi, James, Thank you for your comment. It helps me a lot improve my planning. Unfortunately, no sake breweries allow outsiders get in the factory during the production season. I should have explained more as you advised. I agree the samurai experience program could be improved. I will discuss with the operator how to improve it. It was fun being with you. I hope you can visit Akita again, and I will guide you perfect next time. Enjoy your trip in Japan! Toru
