This is a great tour. Eiko listened to everything our group wanted and was able to pack the tour with things for everyone. With a group age running from 27 to 55 our interest was vastly different, but Eiko was able to include everything from nature in Mt. Fuji and the volcano, to art in an outdoor museum, and even added in History with shrines and historical stories of the area. Everyone was happy and fully engaged throughout the entire tour. We had great photo opportunities and were able to eat black eggs from the volcano (you must try). We had the perfect mix of walking and riding. We began the day by visiting an outdoor museum with great art. It was a wonderful site for photos and the art was breathtaking. Eiko was able to explain all of the large pieces and offer background of many works. We then ascended the mountain to the volcano site, eat Black eggs and got great pictures of Mt. Fuji. We then went for a boat ride and were able to get more great photos. After a short walk we visited a woodworking site that allowed us to visit with the wood artist. He demonstrated his art and allowed us to purchase great souvenirs. We also visited the old tea house. This is out of the way, but I highly recommend including it in your tour. The tea is great, and the house is historic. We ended the day with a shrine and then a visit to an Onsen. What a perfect tour. Lunch was an extra expense, but Eiko recommended a great restaurant, and the food was wonderful. I recommend this tour no matter your interest or fitness ability. Eiko will work with you.
Thank you so very much for such a wonderful review. I’m so happy to know that you enjoyed the tour. I can still recall everything about the tour with all of you, as if it were just yesterday. Even though I have been to Hakone many times, the pleasant conversations and smiles I had with you all made even me, the guide, happy on this wonderful tour. I was very honored to be chosen as your Hakone guide. Thank you very much!! Please come back to Japan again soon! Take care, Eiko
Met us at the train station upon arrival and immediately navigated all transportation pass purchases to save us money as well as coordinated luggage transfer service to the hotel so we could easily tour. Took us to the best view spot of Mt. Fuji, researched a lunch place to meet our dietary needs, and even treated us to yummy strawberries. Highly recommended for all the above as well as ease of communication.
Thank you very mush for this excellent review. On your tour day, the sky was very clear and we could see Mt. Fuji beautifully all day! I was very happy that I could show you the best of Hakone that day!! There were also some hurdles to solve and we exchanged messages many times, didn’t we? And I’m glad to know you enjoyed the tour. I’m hoping your entire Japan trip will be a safe and memorable one to all of you!! Eiko
Eiko is a very friendly and lovely lady to be with on my one day tour around Tokyo. I had a special request and needed to customise the itinerary quite a bit. Eiko put in extra effort and made my wish come true! She’s very flexible while making me comfortable to go to many places without missing the interesting details. Definitely a happy day filled with fun discoveries and good accompany!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I am glad to know that you enjoyed the tour. The tuna we had at Tsukiji was exceptionally delicious! The beautiful autumn weather also helped make the tour an enjoyable one. You have chosen the best time of the year. Just one thing I regret was that we couldn't go up Shibuya Sky due to overcrowded. So, I hope you will come to Japan again soon! Lastly, I'm hoping the good luck charm you bought at the shrine will make your wish come true!
Eiko has such a warm and lovely personality; feels like being guided by a knowledgeable family friend. She was really good with my 12 year old. Due to her engagement with him and explanations at the Shinto and Buddhist shrines, he continued to enjoy visiting shrines throughout the rest of our time in Japan. We were spending the next couple of days in Nikko and I had been concerned about shrine overload for him, but all went well! She was flexible, yet ensured we saw the special highlights of the area and artfully managed the public transportation to get us to our train to Nikko on time. Highly recommend.
I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful review. I appreciate the generosity and warmth of you and your family. I was not able to show you many places in the limited time we had, but I was glad that you listened so attentively to my guiding. I have good memories of your child repeatedly getting incense smoke on the head at Sensoji Temple and interacting with local junior high school students. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family's important trip. I hope you will come back to Japan with the whole family in the near future! Eiko
