About Tour Guide Miyu F.
My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades.
I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors.
I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences.
I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular.
I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

“Our family’s favorite tour in Japan”
My family of 5 had Miyu as our tour guide in Hiroshima and Myajima. Miyu taught us so much about these areas and events. Miyu was very flexible, as well. We had Shinkansen tickets and she arranged the tour so we were done in time to catch our train without missing any of the sights or feeling rushed. I highly recommend this tour and especially Miyu as a guide!

Thank you for your kind words. I was very impressed that your sons showed such a genuine interest in Hiroshima’s history and listened carefully to what I had to say. Have you returned home safely? I hope so. Please come back to Japan again someday.

“Absolutely unforgettable, one of the best experiences we have ever had while traveling.”
Our full day Hiroshima and Miyajima World Heritage Sites tour with Miyu was one of the most meaningful, moving, and beautifully organized experiences we have ever had while traveling. Miyu was extraordinary from start to finish. She brought warmth, intelligence, grace, humor, and deep historical knowledge to every part of the day. Hiroshima is a place that deserves to be experienced with care and reflection, and Miyu guided us through it with the perfect balance of compassion, context, and insight. She helped us understand not only the historical significance of what we were seeing, but also the human stories, cultural meaning, and lasting message of peace behind it all. Her insights about and messages from the Hiroshima survivors around the world was inspirational. Miyajima was equally magical. Miyu made the island come alive, from the iconic floating torii gate to the shrines, traditions, scenery, food, and quiet little details we never would have noticed on our own. Every moment felt seamless. She managed the timing, transportation, explanations, and pace so effortlessly that we could simply relax, learn, and take it all in. What made the day truly exceptional was Miyu herself. She was kind, thoughtful, engaging, patient, and incredibly attentive. She answered every question with depth and clarity, anticipated what we needed before we asked, and made us feel like we were being shown Japan by a deeply knowledgeable friend. This was not just a tour. It was a powerful, beautiful, once in a lifetime experience. Miyu turned an already remarkable itinerary into something unforgettable. We cannot recommend her highly enough. If you are visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima, book this tour with Miyu immediately. She is absolutely outstanding.

“Highlights of Hiroshima”
A last minute cruise detour found us docking in Hiroshima. We were extremely lucky to find Miyouri available. We had an EXCEPTIONAL day touring both Miyajima and the Peace Park. The compassion, knowledge and ability to share her knowledge with us was beyond our expectations. She even brought along home made origami birds for us to leave at the Children’s memorial.

Hiroshima is not only a place of tragedy, but also a city of resilience, compassion, and recovery. On this tour, I will take you not only to the famous landmarks, but also to special hidden places —such as Schmoe House—places that reveal the lesser-known stories of Hiroshima and make your experience truly personal and unforgettable.
