About Tour Guide Miyu F.
My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades.
I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors.
I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences.
I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular.
I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

“Miyajima Island Hiroshima ”
Miyu was an absolutely wonderful guide for our trip to Miyajima Island this afternoon. She was right on time and clearly explained where we were going, what to expect, and how the day would unfold, which made everything very easy and enjoyable. She is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and organized. We were traveling with our two boys, and she was fantastic with them, taking the time to explain things in a way that kept them engaged and interested. She made sure we always knew what we were seeing and shared great insights about the history and culture along the way. Her English is excellent, which made communication effortless. We truly appreciated how thoughtful and attentive she was throughout the tour. Miyu made our visit to Miyajima even more special, and we would highly recommend her to anyone visiting the area!

“Favorite tour of our trip”
We spent a day in Hiroshima and Miyajama with Miyu. We were a multi-generational (agest 30-93) group of 7 and all chose this as our favorite tour in Japan. We learned so much about the temples and shrines and Miyu made that experience hands on. She was so organized about getting us lunch quickly so that we could spent quality time at the Hiroshima site to understand the devastation and generational impact of the bombing. I would highly recommend Miyu.

Thank you so much for your kind and heartwarming words. I truly appreciate you traveling all the way from Hokkaido to visit Hiroshima. I was delighted that the weather cooperated and that you could enjoy the beauty of Miyajima after the rain. From Hiroshima, I wish your father continued good health and a long, happy life.

“Big Day Out in Hiroshima ”
From the moment we met Miyu at the cruise terminal we knew we were in for a special day. She gave us plenty of options for transportation and lunch choices. First stop was Miyajima Island. She timed this stop because the tide was high which gave us the best view of the Tori Gate. Her knowledge of the shrine and temple enhanced our visit tenfold. After lunch we made our way to the Peace Park. Her knowledge of the atomic bomb site and her work with survivors of the blast helped us to empathise with what happened that day on 6th August 1945. Miyu even presented us with paper cranes that she and her grandson had made. The museum was closed so we took the option to visit a beautiful Japanese garden which was excellent. Miyu stayed with us until we were safely in a taxi heading back to our Cruise Ship Well done and many thanks Miyu.
