Kamakura is one of the most popular tourist destination from Tokyo.
Kamakura was prospered as Japan's first feudal capital (from 1185 to 1333). There are many temples, shrines and other historical places.

I will take you some of the most popular spots in Kamakura.
I will meet you at your hotel and we will take a train to Kamakura, it takes about one hour from central Tokyo.
First, we wil visit Kotokuin temple which is famous for the Great Buddha. After that, we will visit Hase temple which is famous for its eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the goddes of mercy and its beautiful garden. You also can enjoy nice views of the coastal city of Kamakura from the slope.
Then, we will have a lunch and will visit Hokokuji temple which is famous for the bamboo grove, you can enjoy powdered green tea with Japanese sweet.
Lastly, we will visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine which is the most important shrine in Kamakura and Komachi street or/and Wakamiya-oji street.

Kamakura is very popular destination, especially in Cherry blossoms season (April), Hydrangea season (June, July) and Autumn leaves season (November). It can be so crowded in these season and weekends. We may change an itinerary or skip one spot if the traffic is very heavy.

We had a great day in Tokyo with Makiko. We had a full day where we visited some of Tokyo’s highlights. This was our first day of a four day stay in the city and Makiko made us feel comfortable with transportations and helped us with the rituals at shrines & temples. Makiko is more than a guide, she is very personable and friendly. Her knowledge of Tokyo is excellent. After our time with Makiko we had a good understanding of the food, transportation and Japanese customs and culture. She will customize your day for what you want. From the time Makiko met us on the morning of our tour to Kamkura until she dropped us off in the evening back at our hotel in Tokyo, she was fully engaged with us, helping us to understand Japanese history, language and culture while seeing to our needs and wishes. We enjoyed every temple, garden, train ride and meal on our itinerary and also the spontaneous stops into little shops that caught our eye. We had one day in Tokyo and one day inNikko with Makiko and found her very helpful, informative, and punctual. She explained the railway systems clearly, so we found our way to the appropriate stations. She answered questions about Japanese history. She `took very good care of us in Nikko, where it was pouring rain.
