Starting at the JR Nagasaki Station, we go to the Fukusaiji temple, the Nagasaki Prefecture Culture & History Museum, and the site of Nagasaki Prefecture Air Defence Headquarters. The history in Nagasaki is not only about the damage caused by the atomic bomb, but you can learn about more as if you're local.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
The JR Nagasaki station
- If you're cruise ship passengers, please let me know to meet at the terminal. If so, adding 30 minutes is necessary because of the transport.
The Fukusaiji Temple
Until arriving at the temple, there're some higher slopes & steps, so I won't recommend it who has with damage to legs. But it has the calm atomosphere and an impressive and unique roof. This temple was destroyed perfectly by the atomic bomb blast, and rebuilt to its present form. The Chinese Buddhist goddess has been looking down on the city since then. The admission fee is free.
The Nagasaki Prefecture Culture & History Museum
The admission fee for the regular exhibition is 630 yen per adult. The temporary exhibition fee depends on. Depending on dates, at the museum, you can have an experience of handicrafts like Batik, Nagasaki embroidery, and pottery. If you want to do that, you should pay the fee at the museum factory, and please let me know in advance. The hours will be arranged. The museum is closed on the 1st and 3rd Monday and on December 28th to 31st. If the 1st and 3rd Monday are holidays, the museum is open on those days and closed the next day. And the museum area is available to have lunch, but not Japanese food and only by cash.
The site of Nagasaki Prefecture Air Defence Headquarters
The admission fee is free for everyone. You can go into the shelters. But the location is on a higher slope than the Nagasaki Prefecture Culture & History Museum. So wearing sneakers is necessary. But you may become emotional how hard the officers were working when the atomic bomb felt down on Nagasaki.
Ending Point
After leaving the Headquarters by a cab, a tram or a bus, at the JR Nagasaki station, the tour will end.

Not only Nagasaki, I can guide you in Sasebo, Unzen, and other smaller cities in the prefecture if you pay my transportation fee.
In 2025, it's the 3rd year as a private tour guide. I speak English and German a little. My hobbies are knitting, handicrafts of earrings and keychains, writing & reading novels in Japanese, and searching for good cafes. Next year, I'm about starting to garden for vegetables and harbs. The main place of a tour is Nagasaki city, including the war hisotory spots. I'd like to guide you to the cities of Sasebo, Saikai, and Unzen, too, if you hope. But I don't have a driving lisence, so transport
while your tour is necessary. I'm good at a family tour for your young kids, too. I like kids, so I'd like to suggest some ideas for their playing in the Nagasaki prefecture.
