Moving and Informative WWII Tour

My husband’s father fought in the Battle of Okinawa, so we were anxious to see all the places he had been and roughly follow the path taken by the Sixth Marine Division. We explained this to Harry, and he did his homework. He came up with an itinerary that was exactly what we were looking for. He came prepared with visual aids and copies of relevant information for us to take home. He was able to answer all our questions and had clearly done a lot of research. Harry is the nicest guy. He is enthusiastic, thoughtful and fun to be with. We had a wonderful two days with him.

Dear Carroll-san, Thank you very much for your kind review. I am truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. It was a great honor for me to spend those two days with you, learning together about the Battle of Okinawa. Since the information commonly shared in Japan and the United States about the battle can sometimes be quite different, I felt it was a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn from each other’s perspectives. In particular, I am very grateful to Bob-san for sharing many insights from the perspective of American soldiers—things that are rarely written in books available in Japan. For example, I had always thought the Japanese Nambu gun was simply an outdated weapon, so I was surprised to learn from him that its rapid-fire capability actually made it something many American soldiers feared. It was truly eye-opening for me. Thank you again for choosing me as your guide. I sincerely hope we will have the chance to meet again someday. Warm regards, Harry

Harry customized our half day tour to accommodate myself and my teenage son. My son wanted to learn about history and karate as well as but Pokemon cards. I wanted learn about the culture and the Blue Zone. Both of our interests were met. Harry was knowledgeable about so many topics. We had a great day!!!

Arigato gozaimashita, Paula-san! It was a short tour, but I believe we shared very unique experiences together. I have been wondering whether you could find everything you need, including the Pokémon card, at the Rycom Shopping Center after the tour. Let's apply the blue zone lesson we learned to our lives, stay healthy, and see each other again! Soremade Ogenkide! Harry

Deep Dive to Okinawa: WWII Battle of Okinawa Tour + The Blue Zone Tour

Harry is certainly one of the best guides you could hope for. Safe driver, punctual, always smiling, and absolutely knows his stuff. Not one question was unanswered. My tour was for 3 days (2 days WW11 Battles and 1 day Blue Zone and hiking). I experienced much more than I expected, nothing was rushed, and Harry knows the best and tastiest places to eat. My food highlight was in the Blue Zone... yesss very nice. Harry excels in his knowledge of WW11, plus his 2 days planning for this was spot on. I got to see and feel everything I knew of the battles and their locations... plus much more. I still think a lot about this. Oh yes, thanks to Harry's wife who gave me a nicely packaged of sweet treats (all eaten when I got home). Harry, thanks for looking after me, for giving me an experience I wanted for a decade or more, and making me feel so welcome in Okinawa. For all you travelers, if you are looking for a high quality guide make sure you give my new friend Harry a go. Can't go wrong with him. Maybe I see you again Harry for a Mt Fuji trek one day???

Dear Wayne-san, Thank you very much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. I truly appreciate your generous words. It was an absolute pleasure spending those three days with you. Our conversations were just as memorable for me as the sites we visited. I learned a great deal from hearing about your experiences around the world. Your stories were truly inspiring, and they have strengthened my own determination to one day explore the world—from Antarctica to the Amazon—just as you have. I am delighted to know that the tour met your expectations and that you were able to experience the battle sites in a meaningful way. That means a great deal to me. And I will be sure to share your kind words with my wife—she will be very happy to know the sweets were enjoyed! It would be my honor to guide you again—whether for a Mt. Fuji trek or to discover more hidden gems of Japan. I sincerely hope our paths cross again in the near future. Warmest regards, Harry
