Walk one of World Heritage Kumano-Kodo trails "Choishi-michi" which is nearest to Osaka and Kyoto. It is an antient access way to Koyasan fonded by the great monk Kukai. Its name is coming from the 180 stupas (Choishi) stand along the trail, which people have been prayed to. The total distance is 22km, takes roughly 7 hours without transportation/rest if you have good physical ability. The trail mostly keeps its original style when opened.

I was born in Osaka, and grown up under nature loving parent, and spent a lot of time on hiking, fishing, camping and skiing in my youth.
I have been guiding trekkers from north to south Japan, as well as oversea trails. Even when I'm not at work, enjoy trekking trails in Rokko area which is just by the door.
I'm a JMGA (Japan Mountaineering Guides Association) certificated Trekking Guide (stage II), and you'll be enjoying the trail without any issues and worries with me.
“A fishing trip to remember...”
Thanks to Tomo my interest in going fishing in the mountains in Japan came true. Thankfully the autumn colours were on show surrounding the fishing location which was a bonus as we had not seen much colour during our tour of Japan. Tomo was a great help in arranging the entry to the fishing ponds and after we had caught enough then arranging for the fish to be prepared three ways for lunch, which was very delicious. Tomo has excellent English language skills, and is someone who is very easy to chat with, which made for a very enjoyable day. In terms of the overall day, I didn't plan enough after the fishing to get full use of the time available, although a detour to a shopping centre on the way back did allow us to stock up on packaged food items to bring back as treats. Overall, we were very happy that we had Tomo as our guide and the trout fishing and it's setting were very memorable. Whilst Tomo's passion is the outdoors (of which Japan has truly exceptional tracts of it), I would strongly recommend him as a guide for a range of tour options. Thank you Tomoe for a memorable day.
“ Gorgeous Scenery along Nakasendo Trail ”
Tomo is an excellent and experienced guide for all outdoor activities. We were two physically active women in our 60s. Tomo was flexible and accommodating to our level of physical fitness, providing us with different options for our hikes daily depending on our energy level. He made excellent judgment and was able change plans at moments notice due to unpredictability of the weather. The selection of trails Tomo made for our hike were not only gorgeous but were so varied making our hikes interesting. Last but not least, Tomo made certain that we were safe at all times, advised us on ways to improve our steps and proper use of our hiking poles during our multi-day hikes. I recommend him without any hesitation.
Tomoya H.

“Sacred Moountain Trekking at Miwa”
The mountain trekking at Miwa was an amazing experince!! One I will never forget, and it was made possible by Tomoya! He was super friendly, super helpful, and super patient. He accompanied me all the way to the mountain and took as many breaks as I needed. He helped me understand the significance of the experince, as well as showed me lesser known spots for some very cool photos! If you're an english speaking foreigner, you're in good hands, he speaks english super well! If you're looking to hike Mt. Miwa while you visit Japan, please book Tomoya! You wont regret it!
