Hikawa Shrine & Omiya Bonsai Village
Let's visit Saitama City (approx. one hour train ride from Tokyo Station) to see the one of the most famous shrines around Tokyo and explore the world renowned Bonsai Village!
1) Hikawa Shrine
Founded about 2,400 years ago, it's "Chokusai-sha", a special shrine whose rituals are attended by an imperial envoy (there are only 16 Chokusai-sha in Japan) and one of the most important shinto shrines of the greater Tokyo area. It's also famous for the longest "sando (approach to the shrine)" in the world and the biggest torii gate in the Kanto region.
2) Bonsai Village
Bonsai nurseries moved from Tokyo after the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, seeking for the ideal place and settled here to form this Bonsai village. Here you can visit bonsai nurseries and the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum (entrance fee / adult: JPY300-). The collection is overwhelming - please appreciate the highest quality bonsai masterpieces that you can never see anywhere else in the world!

Inclusions & Exclusions
Guide fee, hotel pick-up in central Tokyo area (Tokyo 23 wards)
*To pick you up at the hotel outside of Tokyo's 23 wards, I will ask you extra charge. Please ask for details.
Your transportation (from/to your hotel), lunch and entrance fees.
*Entrance fee for the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum -
-Adult : 300 yen
-High school/university students and persons over 65 : 150 yen
-Elementary and Junior high school students : 100 yen
*Your tranportation will be around 1,000-2,000 yen per person, though it may vary depending on where you stay (e.g. one-way ticket from Tokyo to Omiya is 550 yen as of April, 2016).

Bonsai Museum and bonsai nurseries are closed every Thursday and special days.
