“Akira – A True Tokyo Companion”

When I think back to my time in Tokyo, one name sticks with a warm smile: Akira. This wasn’t your standard checklist-style tour – it was something much more genuine. Akira didn’t just show me places. He showed me how Tokyo lives. How people laugh, what they drink, where they walk when they need a break from the world. He invited me into the rhythm of the city – and I’ll never forget it. Everything we did, we did on foot. No rushing, no pressure. Just walking through the heartbeat of Tokyo and absorbing its hidden magic. Based on where I stayed (Akihabara), we explored the surrounding areas step by step – always tailored to what fit me. Not once did I feel like "just another customer." What stood out even more was his kindness off duty. One day I had trouble at the post office, and although it wasn’t a day he was officially guiding me, he messaged, “Is everything okay? Do you need help?” And he meant it. No hesitation, no delay – just genuine care. I didn’t have to ask. He was already there. Akira doesn’t follow scripts. He follows your vibe. He noticed the little things I liked – the atmosphere I enjoyed, the kind of spots that made my eyes light up – and he adapted the entire experience around it. And sometimes, I could feel that the places we went meant something to him too. Quiet neighborhoods, tucked-away gems, places not filled with tourists, but with real Tokyo life. To anyone reading this, first of all: thank you. And second: if you're wondering whether Akira is the right person to guide you – take that step. Tell him what you're into. Share your thoughts. And trust me: he’ll listen. He’ll create something that doesn’t feel like a tour, but like a story. Your story. In a city that has a million faces, Akira knows how to find the one that matches yours. Dear Christopher, Thank you so much for the great review. Thank you so much for verbalizing about the five days that we spent in Tokyo. Things that you kindly wrote about my tour is what I have always been wishing my customers feel. I try to make things as personal as possible for every tours, and I try not to act like a guide. “Tokyo Tour with Akira”

We had a tour with Akira on our first full day in Tokyo. We are glad we did this with Akira on the front end of our trip as he showed us the ropes of how to get around and social norms when visiting Japan. Our tour with Akira ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Akira met us at the house we were renting in Ebisu and took us around the city following the itinerary we agreed upon. We liked that Akira took us to both tourist places as well as off the beaten path places and was able to share with us the cultural and historical significance of these locations. There was flexibility in the itinerary and he took us to a few places that were not on the itinerary based on our interests. One of the highlights of our tour with Akira was the lunch. The lunch location was a local’s restaurant. He was able to help us navigate the menu and ensure we were all getting something that we would enjoy. It was very hot on the day of our tour and he was able to recognize when people needed a break. Akira knew the perfect cafes and places to stop for breaks and refreshments to cool down. Akira's English was excellent; he stated that he learned it watching 80's American TV shows. When we booked with Akira, we only booked one day with him. Looking back, we had so much fun with him that we wished that we would have booked two consecutive days with him.

“Family Tokyo Adventure”

Akira was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable, kind, adaptable to our frequent stops to try things like tuna, beef on a stick, 7/11 smoothies…. We took trains, subways, busses… visited beautiful historical shrines and learned about the county’s religions and traditions. We went to the BEST out of the way tempura restaurant and the tiniest little coffee shop. Thank you Akira for a wonderful day! We slept like the dead.
