Yacco M.

Hi, I’m Yacco, a friendly and passionate local guide. I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years. For the past several years, I’ve been guiding international visitors in Kamakura, Yokohama, and Tokyo as a volunteer, helping them discover the rich history, culture, and hidden charm of these unique cities. Traveling abroad creates once-in-a-lifetime memories, and I would love for you to fully experience the beauty and spirit of my favorite towns. I not only enjoy showing historical and modern landmarks, but also love introducing quiet backstreets, seasonal flowers, cozy cafés, and delicious local food that reflect the charm of everyday life. What I enjoy most is comparing Japanese traditions with my guests’ own cultures and histories—these conversations often lead to deep and inspiring exchanges. As your guide, I’m happy to customize tours based on your interests, whether you’re seeking unique experiences, historical insights, or local flavors. Let’s walk, talk, and create unforgettable memories together!

Kon-ni-chi-wa. Hello! I'm Kaori, having lived in Tokyo for more than 20 years since I got married to a photographer who lives here. Originally from Shizuoka prefecture which has Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. I took 2 working-holiday-visa stays in my younger days. One is in Toronto, Canada, and another is Australia touring by motorcycle. One year respectively. I love travel both international and domestic. I myself love travel freely. That's how I love helping individual travelers like you. Love nature, gardens, trekking, greenery, also anime. My favorite is taking you to the off-the-beaten tracks where I love and sharing my seasonal favorites. I'm happy to make tailor-made tours only for you (up to 4 people) upon your request. ・Half Day as you like (up to 4 hours) : 40,000 JPY ・Full Day as you like (up to 8 hours) : 64,000 JPY ・Extra hour over 8hours : 6,000 JPY/hour I often spend multiple days with the same group to accommodate itinerary for multi days by including my seasonal favorites. I often do Mt.Fuji or Hakone tour. In many cases, the locations are mixed up between Mt.Fuji Five Lakes area and Hakone area, which are not the same place. Please refer to the map I uploaded on gallery to check the sites you are interested in. Also my blogs will help your understanding both areas - "The location difference of Mt.Fuji (Fuji Five Lakes) and Hakone". As a national government licensed guide, I've got deep knowledge of Japanese culture and history. But more than that, I really enjoy talking about the way of life with people from different cultures. I'm quite an outgoing person, ( but organized well! ), easy to get along with anybody, including small kids to teenagers. Can't wait to see you soon!

“Kamakura and Enoshima tour with transfer to Hakone”

We loved the Kamakura and Enoshima tour with Toshiya. His English is excellent. He offered several itineraries, and adjusted tour to our interests. He was very accommodating with timing and our choices. He even offered to come to Tokyo station to help us navigate underground trains.

“Fast paced tour of a beautiful historic city”

Yoshi picked us up at the hotel and our tour started with a train ride to Kamakura at 8:30 am; early start means the streets were empty when we arrived and we did not experience crowds until the afternoon. Such a beautiful city with amazing temples and shrines worth visiting included the large Buddha. Lunch and shopping also. It was great with our private guide because we were able to move quickly and see a lot. Yoshi has been a guide for over five years so has wonderful knowledge of the country and sites to visit all over the Tokyo area

Yoshi S.

Hi Sarah, thank you for your kind feedback regarding my tour. I truly enjoyed being your guide, especially since we were blessed with such great weather. It is a pity that we couldn't reach the Great Buddha while your grandchild was still awake. I understand you have another 10 days of your tour ahead—I hope the good weather continues for you! Yoshi

“Great Way to Explore Kamakura”

Yoko met us at our hotel lobby and was enthusiastic and very friendly. Once arriving in Kamakura, Yoko was extremely knowledgeable about the different sites we visited and food options. We had just arrived to Tokyo and Yoko also helped us with general questions as well as in-depth explanations during our trip. Would definitely recommend Yoko and if we return to Tokyo would love to go with her to Ashikaga Flower Park.

Yoko I.

Thank you so much for posting such a wonderful review and the photo, James! I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed a day trip to Kamakura. It was a beautiful day to explore Kamakura but not so crowded, so I was glad to take you to many beautiful places, such as Hokoku-ji temple (with enjoying matcha tea at a teahouse there), Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine, Hase-dera temple and Kotoku-in temple (the Great Buddha). It was nice meeting all of you. I'm grateful for your thoughtfulness. I hope you had a lovely journey in Japan. I’m glad to hear that you’re interested in Ashikaga Flower Park. I hope we enjoy beautiful flowers in the park when you come to Tokyo again in the near future. Thank you so much for having me as your guide. Please take care.
