Yacco M.
Hi, I’m Yacco, a friendly and passionate local guide. I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years. For the past several years, I’ve been guiding international visitors in Kamakura, Yokohama, and Tokyo as a volunteer, helping them discover the rich history, culture, and hidden charm of these unique cities. Traveling abroad creates once-in-a-lifetime memories, and I would love for you to fully experience the beauty and spirit of my favorite towns. I not only enjoy showing historical and modern landmarks, but also love introducing quiet backstreets, seasonal flowers, cozy cafés, and delicious local food that reflect the charm of everyday life. What I enjoy most is comparing Japanese traditions with my guests’ own cultures and histories—these conversations often lead to deep and inspiring exchanges. As your guide, I’m happy to customize tours based on your interests, whether you’re seeking unique experiences, historical insights, or local flavors. Let’s walk, talk, and create unforgettable memories together!

Koichiro Y.
Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

Shin N.
Welcome to Japan! I'm Shin. I have been an English Guide in Japan more than10 years. I can guide Tokyo, Kanagawa and almost all metropolitan sightseeing and walking spots. I was born in Kobe, grown up in Osaka, and studied in Kyoto, so not only Tokyo but I also have a good knowledge of Japanese historical cities. I love talking about Japanese food & culture, walking quiet narrow streets, drinking tasty Japanese whisky, Sumo, Rugby & Sports, and Japanese mountains. I climbed Mt. Fuji 18 times with foreign guests. We enjoyed the auspicious moments of sunrising from the summit. I would like to support you to make your stay in Japan memorable and precious one. It is grateful if you refer to my proposed tour schedule, in the case you have your own interests, I am happy to tailor the tour schedule responding your requests. Please feel free to contact me. Ayami M.

I spent many years in the automotive industry and international consulting, including extensive time living and working in the United States. While I am very comfortable hosting business executives, I truly love sharing the "heart of Japan" with families and senior travelers. I enjoy making my tours feel like a walk with a knowledgeable friend—whether we are discussing the latest design trends or the deep history of a hidden temple. My goal is to bridge the gap between cultures with a smile, ensuring that every guest, from busy professionals to curious grandkids, feels welcome and inspired.

Masayoshi K.
Hello and welcome! I have been living in Kamakura for about seven years, just a short five-minute walk from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. I truly love this city for its unique combination of historic temples, peaceful nature, and traditional streets. One of my favorite hobbies is walking around Kamakura with my camera and capturing everyday scenes of the town. I enjoy discovering small streets, quiet temples, and scenic viewpoints. I use a Sony α7CII camera and enjoy helping visitors capture beautiful and memorable photos of their trip. I also run twice a week in the morning, often along Kamakura’s hiking trails or by Yuigahama Beach. Because of this, I am very familiar with many walking routes and hidden paths in the area. If you enjoy nature, hiking, or longer walks, I would be happy to guide you through some of Kamakura’s beautiful spots. I graduated from a university in the United States and continue to use English regularly in my work and through international exchange events. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and sharing the charm of Kamakura in English. During our tour, I hope to show you not only famous places such as the Great Buddha and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, but also the relaxing atmosphere, nature, and everyday beauty of Kamakura. I would also be happy to help you take great photos so you can bring home wonderful memories of your trip. I look forward to exploring Kamakura together with you!

Kamakura Tour Reviews
Ignacio F.
“A Wonderful Day Exploring Kamakura”
We had a lovely day visiting Kamakura with Kashima as our guide. He kindly picked us up from our hotel in Tokyo and accompanied us all the way to Kamakura, which made the experience very comfortable and easy from beginning to end. During the day, Kashima guided us through several of the most important and beautiful places in Kamakura, including Kōtoku-in and the Great Buddha, Hase-dera, Tsurugaoka Hachimangū, and the charming streets and atmosphere that make Kamakura so special. At every stop, Kashima shared a great deal of historical information and context, and it was clear how much knowledge and passion he has for the history of the area. At times, it was a little challenging for us to fully understand everything in English, but we very much appreciated the effort and the amount of information he wanted to share with us. One detail we especially appreciated was that Kashima prepared a document for us in advance with information about the different places we would be visiting during the tour. It was very helpful and showed the care and preparation he put into making the day special. At the end of the tour, he also took the time to explain to us clearly how to continue our journey to Hakone, which was extremely helpful and made the next part of our trip much easier. Overall, we are very grateful for the experience and for the opportunity to discover Kamakura with him.

Kashima H.
Ignacio san, Thank you very much for your upmost review to me. We visited Kamakura city including Great Buddha in Kotokuin-temple, Hasedera temple, Houkokuji temple and Tsuruoka-Hachiman shrine. Kamakura used to be a Samurai town where Shogun lived and dominated Japan. Therefore, there are still Samurai related atmosphere remained at present and I am pleased that you could feel that. Also, during through Komachi-food & souvenir street with tasting sweets, we could feel the nice atmosphere Thanks to your strong curiosity about Japan, we could talk and exchange various information about every tour spots. I am very much pleased that you could enjoy the tour. Thanks, Kashima,
Sandra T.
