“Charged Extra”

Hello. We had a brief day with Kei visiting Snow Monkeys and Buddhist temple. However when we returned to the Nagano train station he told us we owed him an additional 16,000 yen, because we used his car. I expected an extra charge for gas. Maybe 5000 yen or less. Especially since I paid all parking charges. So paying him an additional 16,000 Yen at drop off was very troubling and I think it was a ripoff. Please let me know if you agree and can then credit me back to my charge card for these very important excessive additional charges, after the tour charges I paid you in advance for. Ty. Fred E. A

Hi Fred, Thank you very much again for your booking and for giving me the highest rating. I’m really glad the snow monkeys came down to the park that day. It had also been a long time since I saw grooming behavior among the monkeys so clearly, so I enjoyed it very much as well. Regarding the 16,000 yen you paid in cash, I believe there may be a misunderstanding. If you could please check our agreement and my first reply to you on March 19, you will see that I clearly stated the costs: 10,000 yen for the use of my car and gasoline, and 6,000 yen for my own round-trip transportation to and from Nagano City (which takes me almost two hours each way). In addition, the amount you paid in advance through GoWithGuide covers only the 5-hour guiding fee, not these transportation-related expenses. I hope you are enjoying your time in Kanazawa now. I am sorry that the snow monkeys did not come down to the park that day, but I was happy that we could still enjoy the fresh green scenery on the way to and from the park. I was also glad you could experience the spring atmosphere in the garden behind the Japanese sweets shop in Obuse, and that the flower garden was at its most beautiful with the spring flowers in full bloom.
