Joetsu was the former capital city of Echigo Province until the mid 19th century. It has a lot of historic sites and scenic spots, and most of all good people. I love my city very much. I worked for the Joetsu City office for over thirty years. During my time there, I was in charge of international relations for about ten years. Niigata has been developed as a port city at the mouth of big river. The Niigata port has been active since the 17th century, the samurai era. So, we have a lot of sightseeing sites which represent the flourishment of the town in those days. You can enjoy a wealthy merchant’s house and garden, a landlord’s mansion or a model of wooden boat which sailed all over Japan at that time. Along with those historical sites, the people’s markets are very enjoyable. Farmers and fishermen sell their fresh products at the portable tents along the street. “Fantastic - again”
This was our second TR taxi, Go with Guide booking. Again, it was great. We had a lovely driver, who knew a little bit of English, and we both used Google translate. We saw so much in a very efficient amount of time. Well worth it.

“You want the best, go with the best”
Fujiko has an awesome personality, speaks very good English. She's all for being flexible and very accommodating. As we like to say in Hawaii: "Fujiko, she's da bes". Also our driver Keike may not be the best driver but he's sure hard to beat. Much mahalo Fujiko and Keike for making our trip to Sado Island a very memorable adventure.

“Fujiko was an excellent guide for Niigata”
Fujiko planned a great tour for us. My husband is elderly so our pace was comfortable for him. We visited 2 fantastic traditional Japanese style homes, had a delicious lunch, and visited a fish and produce market. We enjoyed her company and we had a bonus experience visiting an Ikebana (plant & flower arranging)course that an aquantance of hers was teaching at the historic Ozawa Family home.
