Gifu city highlights ~ 5 hours day tour
In the late of 16th century, Gifu was the center of Japan's battle-era history. Gifu has many sightseeing spots like Gifu castle, statue of a big Buddha, Nagara river, shrine and so on. A golden samurai statue (Oda Nobunaga) welcomes you at the JR Gifu Station. Let me show you the attraction of this Gifu city area. Gifu is close to Nagoya, it takes only 20minutes from Nagoya by JR line.
This tour is suited for the tourist who come to Gifu city for the first time.

From here we are heading to Gifu castle using a ropeway
Gifu castle
This castle was the center of Japanese society in the late 16th century. Most powerful samurai Oda Nobunaga's castle!
A big statue of Buddha (Shoboji temple)
This is called one of the 3 biggest statue of Buddha in Japan.
Kawara machi old street
Kawara machi was the river harbour, it remains peaceful atmosphere.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, let's go to next destination using a public bus.
Kogane shrine
Kogane means money, so this shrine has a big golden shrine gate. You can wish your luck for happiness and success.
After your praying, head to JR gifu station on foot.
Tamamiya district
Tamamiya area has an atmosphere combined with modern and nostalgia. About 400 restaurants and shops is in this area.

We go to must-see spots in Gifu city like Gifu castle, a big statue of Buddha in Shoboji temple, Kawara machi old street, Kogane shrine and so on. You can enjoy tremendous view, peaceful atmosphere, Japanese people's mind set in this tour.
Though this is walking tour, we use public buses and rope way as well. This must be fun for foreigin tourists.
Meeting point JR Gifu station is 20minutes from Nagoya. And we will take a public bus from here. It is convenient place for every one.
