Outline of the Tour
You will be able to see many things to testify the history of Yokohama along the tour course.
The tour will start at the Sakuragicho station, the first station laid down in Japan in 1872 as a railway to connect Shinbashi of Tokyo to Yokohama. Meanwhile, two big warehouses made of bricks will come in sight. These warehouses were mainly used for the stock of silk products made in Japan, which gained a big popularity among western people and American people. The silk products made in Japan were selling like hot cakes. Passing through the warehouses, you will be aware of several exotic towers on your right side, which stand out among ordinary buildings. Each one of the towers has a special name like a royal family, such as the tower of King, the tower of Queen and the tower of Jack.
Next coming will be a big park like a Central Park of New York and a building standing at the back side of the park. It stands there as if it tries to hide itself from public eye. The park is Yamashita Park and the building is New Grand Hotel. The New Grand Hotel is the first hotel in Japan. Neapolitan, a well-known Italian recipe at present originated in this hotel. Yamashita Park is a date spot for young couples as well as an Oasis for many families. From there you can see the Hikawamaru to be anchored in one corner of the harbor near a big pier named Osanbashi. It was operated as a cruise ship in a luxurious cruise ship era of 1930s.
Then, the highlight of the day's tour will wait for you as a main dish of a full course. It is Yokohama hillside. It is a special district which was opened as a foreign settlement and people now call it Beverly Hills in Yokohama because of the high-quality atmosphere specific to the residential area. After having lunch in China Town, you will be taken to the Yokohama Sankeien garden by bus, a unique garden constructed by Mr. Sankei Hara. He is almost a legend in Yokohama. You will be fascinated by the exotic and gorgeous garden he constructed. You will never find any other gardens like this in the world.

I think the guide do not have sufficient knowledge on the place we are visiting and also the route. It is a waste of my time and should not be allowed to guide to places where he is not familiar. If he need to read the information given at the place of interest, I also can read and I don't need his service. TQ
Thank you for your review about our two days tour of Nagano. I was careless about skipping the information of Ueda castle to you. It is a long story, but I should have done. And one more, I and my driver feel deeply sorry for being delayed in arriving at the hotel because of making wrong choice of the route on the way back to the hotel.
