“We had an all-day visit to Kyoto with Hiro. We toured the four sites we wanted to see: Fushima Inari Shrine; the Sanjusangen Temple; the Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion); and the Ryoan-ji Temple. We ate lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant.”
Hiro was an excellent guide who watched over us during the visit. He met us at the Kobe cruise port, and we took the train to Kyoto. We travelled to the four sites by taxi, subway, and bus in an efficient way. Along the way we learned from Hiro about Shintoism and Buddhism as well as the history of Kyoto and the details of the four sites. We enjoyed his quiz questions during the tour. At the end of the tour, Hiro accompanied us to the train station, helped us buy tickets, took us to the correct platform, and watched us get on the train to Kobe.

“Well organised and friendly”
Michiko guided us around Nara and surrounding towns. We visited an Indian ink maker and Indigo dying town - both were fantastic. It was a long day and my son was unwell but Michiko very helpfully adjusted what we did to accommodate everyone. She was extremely organised with train timetables , knowledge of the area and history etc and was great with our kids. I would highly recommend Michiko for any tours of Nara.
