Toshogu Shrine is built in a deep forest and has a lot of steep stairs. Please be aware that it is pretty hard to go up and down those steep staircases with strollers.

The staircases were made of stones and pretty slippery on a rainy day and just after a rain. Please come with walking shoes.

We need to remove shoes in the worship hall and adjacent building so please do not forget to put on socks or stockings. The floor of the shrine is cold.

In a high season, trains and traffics are busy and the tour may take longer.

If you need pick up and drop off at your hotel. It may take nine hours.

A wonderful tour to Asakusa

Despite being a rainy day, Reiko gave us a fascinating tour of the Senso-ji Temple and explained the history and culture of Japan, and in particular of that part of Tokyo which was very informative. The food we had was excellent and we loved our side trip to Japanese Brooklyn were indulged in excellent locally made chocolate. We would highly recommend this tour and Reiko as a guide. Thank you Reiko.

Cool Rieko

Rieko was very cool. She was able to sense that we were all used up on the strenuous 3 days tokyo tour. She very patient waiting for the rest of family to catch up with the phase. She explained briefly the history and the transition of rulers in Japan in the Rikugien Gardens. The garden was picturesque just in time with the yellow, red and green autumn leaves. Lunch was great and have a quick kitkat all flavor buying. Rieko also guided us and wait till the skyliner take off from the ueno station to the Narita Airport. It was a very regarding 7 hours and definitely, enjoy again the company of GowithGuide tours in our next teip to Japan. Polite, well mannered and lots of patience on the tour guides will definitely make the visit pleasurable.

A nice walk of a nearby neighborhood

Azabu is close to our hotel, but we never spent time there. Interesting to see how the neighborhood homes, shops, restaurants and establishments all fit together within this area. Seeing tofu making and sampling the product was much appreciated.

Paul san, Thank you for your warm review. I had a pleasant time with you. It was a great opportunity for me to get to know such active people like you, and I am very happy to let you know a piece of our everyday life that is not touristic. Hope I will see you again in Japan and explore another off the beaten path someday. Thank you again and stay safe. Rieko
