Kawagoe is in the western part of Saitama prefecture next to Tokyo. It is a long-established commercial town from Edo Era. Unlike Tokyo, it survived air-raids of World War Two because it was in the suburbs of Metropolitan. Thanks for that, there are lots of traditional buildings and houses of different ages in a good condition. Now then, this place is getting more and more popular not only among foreigh tourist but also Japanese tourists.

It's about 30 minutes train ride from Ikebukuro, one of the terminal stations in central Tokyo.

little bit modern houses and buildings.

“Kahoko made our first 6 days in Japan just perfect!”
Kahoko is not just a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide to be with but is also very customer focused. From the moment we signed up with Kahoko for the Tokyo & Hakone part of our Japan trip, nearly six months before our visit, she engaged with me at every step of the way to plan a day-by-day custom itinerary that accommodated the interests of each member of my family. This was no easy task as there were 5 of us from 13 years to 76 years of age. To Kahoko’s credit, at the end of the 5 days in Tokyo and 1 day in Hakone, we all agreed with one voice, that without Kahoko we could not have had the amazing time that we had. “Unforgettable experience”
Kahoko was an excellent guide from the moment she arrived at our hotel. Meeting us there took a lot of the stress out of our first morning in Tokyo, and she immediately helped us feel comfortable. She showed us how to use the JR system in a way that actually made sense, and we felt confident navigating on our own afterward. She shared a lot of small cultural details and practical tips throughout the day, and those will genuinely be useful during the rest of our trip. At the shrine, she explained everything clearly and made the experience feel meaningful rather than rushed. She connected easily with our family, kept the pace relaxed, and always checked in to make sure we were good with the plan. Her English was clear and easy to follow, so communication was never an issue. Overall, the day went smoothly because of her. It was informative, comfortable, and a great introduction to Tokyo.
