Kawagoe is in the western part of Saitama prefecture next to Tokyo. It is a long-established commercial town from Edo Era. Unlike Tokyo, it survived air-raids of World War Two because it was in the suburbs of Metropolitan. Thanks for that, there are lots of traditional buildings and houses of different ages in a good condition. Now then, this place is getting more and more popular not only among foreigh tourist but also Japanese tourists.

Kawagoe station
It's about 30 minutes train ride from Ikebukuro, one of the terminal stations in central Tokyo.

It's a kind of nostalgic street 60 or 70
years ago.
Kawagoe kumano shrine
It's an old and tasteful shrine. You can see a unique hebigami sama ,or a snake deity statue that might your dreams come true.
1900' , Taisho era street
The street comes even older. You can see a street a hundred years ago. There are many classical but a
little bit modern houses and buildings.
1800' street, Edo and Meiji Era street
It's really like a time slip. There lines up traditional structures in a flawless condition. Here, you can enjoy strolling , dinning, or shopping.

Kahoko is a caring person. She always comes prepared for what you want to do and see and when you can´t have all you want, she looks for answers and other possibilities.
