Here are the things or spots you should expect on the trail.

Mount Otake Peak has an elevation of 1266 meters above sea level. The distance from Mount Nokogiriyama to Mount Otake will take about 2 hours depending on the pacing of the hikers. Expect the view of Mt Fuji, the Mountain range of Yamanashi on the west part, and the Pacific Ocean on the east part from the standpoint of Mount Otake.
At this point, we will have a lunch break eating our bento meal that we brought on our way. We will have a much longer rest at Mount Otake before we head down to Mount Mitake Shrine.

From the peak of Mt. Otake, We are going to descend going to Mitake Shrine. The course will be around 1 and a half hours or 2 hours depending on the pacing of the hikers. Along the way you are going to see hikers lodge, a small shrine and a small torii gate.

Picture taking and parting ways. We can eat in the Tabehoudai restaurant in yoyogi but this is optional. I prefer to eat unlimited grilled meat right after a long tiring hike just to reward myself for the whole day of hiking. Tabehoudai grilled meat cost around 2500 yen.

“Amazing Tokyo Tour”
My husband and I took our first trip to Tokyo and asked Moses to be our guide on the first day. He took us on an all day tour of many famous neighborhoods as well as hidden gems that aligned with our special interests. He was so kind and helped us to learn the train system so we would be prepared for the rest of our trip. The next day, Moses picked us up for a hike up one of Japan’s famous mountains. We felt immediately comfortable and welcomed and learned so much. Not only did Moses take wonderful photos, he also made us a video of our first few days that is truly a treasure. I highly recommend asking Moses to introduce you to Tokyo!

Thank you so much for your kind words Cate and Larry! It was such a pleasure showing you both around Tokyo and introducing you to some of my favorite spots. I’m really glad the tour and hike helped you feel more confident getting around and exploring on your own. You two had such great energy, and it was a lot of fun sharing those moments on the mountain and around the city. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the photos and video. Wishing you both many more adventures ahead, and I hope our paths cross again in Japan someday. Best wishes Moses
