Tucked away in the deep mountains of western Saitama Prefecture, Mt. Ryokami (両神山) stands tall at 1,723 meters, earning its place among Japan’s “100 Famous Mountains” (日本百名山). Revered since ancient times as a sacred peak, this mountain offers not only panoramic views but also a sense of spiritual tranquility that few places near Tokyo can match. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or someone seeking solitude in nature, Mt. Ryokami promises a truly rewarding day adventure.

Meeting Point
Ikebukuro Station
Arrival at Seibu Chichibu Station
Depart at Ikebukuro via Seibu Ikebukuro Limited Express line. Upon Arrival grab breakfast or snacks nearby and ride a bus going to Ryokami Tozanguchi.
Arrival at the Trailhead
From this point about 5.6km up to the summit. around 2-3.5 hours hike.
Summit
In a clear view sky. You will be able to see the mountains of Nagano and even Mount Fuji.
Descent
Descent will take about 1.5-2.5 hours
Ride a bus back to Seibu-Chichibu Station.
Depart from Seibu Chichibu Station
Approximately almost 2 hours ride going back to Tokyo.
Ending Point
Ikebukuro Station

Tour Important Information
REMEMBER:
1. Joiners must be physically fit and healthy. Get enough sleep before the scheduled hike. If you have an underlying condition or special condition please let me know before joining.
2. This tour is time-bound so we will strictly follow the timetable. One of the main reasons is that we have to catch the train going back to central Tokyo. Train services in the countryside are very limited.
3. All expenses are not included in the tour guide fee. Prepare extra money for the expenses during the hike. Ex. Food, Transportation, Souvenir, Etc.

“Amazing Tokyo Tour”
My husband and I took our first trip to Tokyo and asked Moses to be our guide on the first day. He took us on an all day tour of many famous neighborhoods as well as hidden gems that aligned with our special interests. He was so kind and helped us to learn the train system so we would be prepared for the rest of our trip. The next day, Moses picked us up for a hike up one of Japan’s famous mountains. We felt immediately comfortable and welcomed and learned so much. Not only did Moses take wonderful photos, he also made us a video of our first few days that is truly a treasure.
