Mt. Tanzawa, standing at 1,567 meters, is a scenic peak located in Kanagawa Prefecture, within the Tanzawa-Oyama Quasi-National Park. It’s part of the famous Tanzawa mountain range, known for its lush forests, well-maintained trails, and panoramic views of Mt. Fuji, Sagamihara, and Tokyo Bay on clear days. Meeting Point
Shinjuku Station
Arrival at Shibusawa Station
The train ride from Tokyo, starting in Shinjuku, will take about an hour and a half.
Okura Bus station
We will start the hike at Okura Trailhead around 600m from Okura bus stop.

The Trail
Okura to Komadori-sanso to Mt. Tonodake (塔ノ岳, 1,491 m) to Mt. Tanzawa (丹沢山)
Duration is about 3-4 hours in Total.
Mount Tanzawa Peak
Enjoy views of Mt. Fuji and surrounding ridges. Take a break, have your packed lunch or light meal at the mountain hut.
Start Descent
Begin descent back via the same trail.
Duration about 3 hours.
Okura Trailhead
Take the bus back to Shibusawa Station
Depart from Shibusawa Station
Travel will take around an hour and a half back to Shinjuku.

Tour Important Information
REMEMBER:
1. Joiners must be physically fit and healthy. Get enough sleep before the scheduled hike. If you have an underlying condition or special condition please let me know before joining.
2. This tour is time-bound so we will strictly follow the timetable. One of the main reasons is that we have to catch the train going back to central Tokyo. Train services in the countryside are very limited.
3. All expenses are not included in the tour guide fee. Prepare extra money for the expenses during the hike. Ex. Food, Transportation, Souvenir, Etc.

“Amazing Tokyo Tour”
My husband and I took our first trip to Tokyo and asked Moses to be our guide on the first day. He took us on an all day tour of many famous neighborhoods as well as hidden gems that aligned with our special interests. He was so kind and helped us to learn the train system so we would be prepared for the rest of our trip. The next day, Moses picked us up for a hike up one of Japan’s famous mountains. We felt immediately comfortable and welcomed and learned so much. Not only did Moses take wonderful photos, he also made us a video of our first few days that is truly a treasure.
