“Great Day in Kyoto”
I had a fabulous time with Alex. He's a wonderful guide, who knows Kyoto inside and out. We began with some "hidden gems" (quite true) and then went on to see some of the best sites in the city. Alex is personable and really knowledgeable. He knows the culture and language really well.

“Didn't know there is so much to see in Usuki”
We were so glad we hired Kei to be our tour. He was very thoughtful from the very beginning. There was a closure on the highway and he was willing to provide the flexibility to suggest an earlier departure. He was very thoughtful to go with an easier path knowing my dad has a bad knee. Usuki is very different from other popular tourist attractions. We did not feel this place was heavily commercialized, so we could submerge ourselves in its history and the locals' daily lives. Kei introduced us to Usuki more like a friend who is passionate about his home prefecture. He could tell you a lot about Oita. Kei did not end his work day by simply dropping us off at the hotel; he even made great suggestions for what we could do in the afternoon on our own and shared some dinner recommendations with us. Thank you, Kei.

“Great day exploring Tokyo on a custom, off-the-beaten-tracks tour”
Nobuyuki was an outstanding guide today. I requested a very custom, full day itinerary very off the normal tourist paths. Nobuyuki went beyond all expectations in arranging the tour, including re-working the day when an exceptional private tour was offered at one museum— due to Nobuyuki taking extra efforts to ensure I had the most VIP experience possible. Nobuyuki ensured we spent quality time at each stop, but I never felt rushed and we kept to our schedule. I could never have had such a productive & extraordinary day without Nobuyuki. As a guide, Nobuyuki is very personable and full of interesting information. He is great at keeping up engaging conversation, making the day feel like touring around Tokyo with a long-time friend.

Of course, March to May is Sakura season, so tourism is high during this time. To escape the crowds, try traveling from December to February. June to August is hot and moist, and May to June is rainy.
