You want to experience Izakaya like locals? Are you a little reluctant to drink in Shinjuku Kabukicho or the youth town of Shibuya? If so, I recommend Ginza, Yurakucho area! The area has some different profiles. There are deep izakaya alleys underneath the JR railways that retain a postwar atmosphere and also high-end streets where the district became first westernized after the Edo period. You can enjoy 2 very different types of drinking spots while touching about the history.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
JR Line Yurakucho station, Central exit, (Yamanote line and Keihin touhoku line. Next to Tokyo station.)
Outside the central exit, you will see Yoshinoya beef rice ball restaurant on the left. I will wait for you there,
There are deep izakaya alleys underneath the JR railways between Yurakucho station and Shinbashi station that retain a postwar atmosphere. You will enjoy at one of a lot of Izakayas. Any type of typical Izakaya food is available ranging from fresh seafood to meat dishes, so you can choose at your own choice.
Ginza was the first westernized district after the Edo period. You will enjoy drinking at one of the beer halls which still retains the atmosphere of the period. They were inspired by German beer halls. You can also take pictures of illuminated buildings in Ginza
If the weather permits, you can enjoy the night view of Ginza from a tall building. If you are lucky enough, you may see Tokyo Sky Tree!

“A truly authentic Tokyo evening!”
Great evening with Maki! We started at a local Izakaya, an experience that I could not have had without her being a solo mature woman traveller, as we were the only women in a sea of men. An incredible and unique experience combined with great food. After hearing about my curiosity about standing sushi restaurant, we went to one. And once again, a learning experience with excellent sushi among locals, no tourists. We proceeded to a beer hall that had an interesting history and reason for its creation. We ended the evening by strolling through the serene gardens atop Ginza 6. An evening that exceeded my expectations. I am grateful for the once-in-a-lifetime experience you provided. Thank you Maki!

(10 reviews)Thank you for your review. Wd had a lot of fun at the adventurous izakaya in only men world, the sushi stand-up bar, and the beer hall! I learned a lot from hearing various stories from an expert of life. Thank you very much.

Tokyo Ginza Then and Now (Izakaya hopping tour in 3 hours)
“Fantastic Ginza evening ”
We had a beautiful evening with Maki who took us on a culinary journey to a beautiful okonomiyaki restaurant and the to a small izakaya. This is an authentic Japanese experience, as a foreigner you cannot experience this on your own, and Maki explained many points of interest. We also had a lovely walk after dinner around Ginza and up to the top of Ginza 6 for the magnificent view of the city. I rated the tour 5 stars because Maki went out of her way to accommodate our interests and food preferences and was so kind and lovely to talk to. You will have a beautiful evening with Maki if you book a tour with her!
