We begin at Tsukiji Hongan-ji, then continue through the vibrant streets of Tsukiji Outer Market.
Along the way, I’ll introduce the traditions behind Japan’s food culture — from seafood to knives and kitchen tools. You’re free to try foods that interest you, and I’ll recommend quality stalls and assist with ordering.
Perfect for travelers who want local insight and a flexible way to experience Tsukiji.

Meeting Point
Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple
- We meet at the entrance of Tsukiji Hongan-ji, beside the large stairs. I’ll be waiting on the left side. Meeting at your hotel may be possible depending on location. Please ask in advance. Tsukiji Hongan-ji is a unique Buddhist temple with an uncommon architectural style, blending Japanese and Western influences. It’s a calm starting point to introduce Japanese culture, spirituality, and the history of the Tsukiji area.
Tsukiji Outer Market and food tasting
One of Tokyo’s most famous markets, Tsukiji Outer Market offers a lively and immersive food experience. As we walk through its narrow streets, I introduce the history of Tsukiji and its role in Tokyo’s food culture today.
You’ll have the opportunity to try specialties that interest you along the way. Food and drinks are not included, and guests pay directly at each stall. I’ll recommend quality vendors, explain different dishes, and assist with ordering if needed.
If you have dietary restrictions — including vegetarian or vegan preferences — I’m happy to help you find suitable options. Please let me know in advance so I can guide you more smoothly.
In addition to food, we also browse local shops selling tea, Japanese knives, ceramics, and kitchen tools, while I share practical tips about ordering and local food etiquette.
Ending Point
Namiyoke Shrine
