Kamakura is the first and oldest Samurai capital in Japan, built more than 800 years ago. To change their barbarous image from Kyoto nobles, Samurai government tried their best to make it an attractive city.

They supported religious people to build beautiful temples & shrines and encouraged local people to produce nice products with craftmanship.

You will be able to have a nice walking day with good old Japanese scenery and good local food. Just one hour away from Tokyo.

About Tour Guide Shin N.

Welcome to Japan! I'm Shin. I have been an English Guide in Japan more than10 years.

I can guide Tokyo, Kanagawa and almost all metropolitan sightseeing and walking spots.

I was born in Kobe, grown up in Osaka, and studied in Kyoto,

so not only Tokyo but I also have a good knowledge of Japanese historical cities.

I love talking about Japanese food & culture, walking quiet narrow streets, drinking tasty Japanese whisky, Sumo, Rugby & Sports, and Japanese mountains.

I climbed Mt. Fuji 18 times with foreign guests. We enjoyed the auspicious moments of sunrising from the summit.

I would like to support you to make your stay in Japan memorable and precious one.

It is grateful if you refer to my proposed tour schedule,

in the case you have your own interests, I am happy to tailor the tour schedule responding your requests.

Please feel free to contact me.

I look forward to sharing wonderful time in Japan with you. Be my guest!

Reviews

Half Day Tour in Tokyo

We had such a wonderful experience on our Tokyo half-day tour with Shin as our guide. He was incredibly professional, patient, and had such a kind spirit that made the entire tour enjoyable for our group. We especially loved his history lessons and the way he explained the significance behind the different shrines and temples we visited. His humor and storytelling kept the tour engaging and fun throughout the day. Shin was also very patient with our group, especially whenever we wanted to stop and take pictures. He never rushed us and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. One of the highlights was being introduced to local cuisine and getting to experience a more authentic, local side of Tokyo. Overall, Shin was an amazing host and guide, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Dorothy san, Thank you for your kind message. I thought it would be difficult to hear your review because you’ve already returned to your country and should be busy for daily things. Your thoughtful message encouraged me a lot and reminded of our joyful tour one month ago. It was good for us that we had a short briefing at your hotel before the tour to share basic Japanese history and customs. We moved to Asakusa, though Cherry blossom season had finished along Sumida River Side, we enjoyed downtown Tokyo and old Edo atmosphere with a good tempura restaurant in Asakusa. We said good-bye at Ueno Park after enjoying a pleasant walk. I am very happy to hear that our tour looks like remaining one of your good memories in Japan. Domo Arigatou, Sincerely yours, Shin

Walking tour of Yokohama

Shin was a great guide. Took us for a walking tour around Yokohama with stops at a few museums as well as a short boat ride. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed learning about Yokohama with Shin.

Thank you for your kind review, Diane san. It was my pleasure that we enjoyed a good city walking on a sunny winter day in Yokohama. We started our tour smoothly from your ferry terminal, though we could not see Mt. Fuji from the top roof of the terminal. Because of your pretty good walking speed and steady steps, we could visit Yokohama Archives of History, Custom Museum, Redbrick Warehouse, and World Porters (Shopping Center) in the morning, then we moved on to See Bus, which brought us to Yamashita Park. I would like to thank you again for further walking to Minato-no-mieru Oka Park (bay viewing observatory), where we found old relics of French and British buildings which brought new era of Meiji Revolution to Japan in 1860’s. I wish the quiet scenery from the observatory may remain long time as one of your good memories of your tour to Asia. We lastly enjoyed a traditional and authentic, but cozy lunch at the China town. Because after long walking, I was hungry, so I ordered a lot. I have to say sorry again for too many dishes for three of us! All the best for your further trip and please come back again to Japan. Best regards, Shin
