I was a research scientist in New Zealand for a short time. I planned the industry tours for foreign specialists and guided them to the corresponding enterprises. I grew Oriental vegetables for commercial purposes for a company in the UK. I was a rice cultivation assistant in Africa as a member of the Japanese Peace Corps. I visited Iran, Iraq, and Syria as a member of a goodwill mission organized by the government. After retirement, I have been a tour guide. I accompany guests on offshore trips from cruise ships. I can arrange walking tours in the Aogihara Forest area including lava caves like the Ice Cave and Wind Cave, and also strolling tours in the nostalgic town of Yamanashi. My Name is Naoya. I was born in Tokyo in 1952. After my graduation from Keio University, I joined a Japanese bank. Mainly I was assigned international business and stayed in London for three years. At the age of 52, I moved to a Japanese manufacturer company and had worked for 11 years. As a personnel manager, I engaged in hiring Indian graduates. Then for two years, I went to Tashkent in Uzbekistan as a JICA senior volunteer. I taught "corporate finance" at Tashkent Financial Institute in English. I got the guide license in 2017, After I came back to Tokyo, I am working as a volunteer guide, especially in Shinjuku. I usually play tennis with my friends every weekend and am tough enough to take you around everywhere you would like to visit in Tokyo area. “Japan makes wine?!? You bet it does!!”
Even if you only have the mildest interest in wine, this tour is for you. Although Chinami gives an excellent and educational tour of the Yamanashi wine region, the beauty of the vineyards and the mountains is all the excuse you need to escape Tokyo for the day. Chinami was waiting for us at the train station when we arrived and straight away we were off to our first winery … one that I suggested which she was happy to fit into the itinerary for the day. Her knowledge of the area is exceptional and she was able to give us the highlights of the area in the short time we had. If your into trying something different the regional varieties of Japanese grapes are worth trying especially Koshu and Muscat Bailey A. We visited 5 wineries while there and had lunch at Maruki Winery which had a fantastic deck over looking the mountains. Burgers were great!!! All in all a great day and totally recommend if you want to do something different and escape the tourist crowds. Thank you Chinami for looking after us for the day!!

Wow! Thank you so much for wonderful review!!I didn't t realize we went five wineries because you left Yamanashi earlier. And I am happy that you got one you wanted to buy in Budo no Oka! I have more wineries that I would like to take you to. Remember Grape festival is the first Saturday of Oct. And Yamanashi Nouveau is Nov 3. I think your children would like them. Also, if you have a couple hours, you could go to the Fruits Park that has a good view of Mt Fuji. Take care everyone and enjoy wines from Japan!

“Excellent taxi service”
We reserved a private taxi for 7 hours and we were able to set our itinerary ahead of time. The driver came early and we were able to communicate with a google translate app. He remained flexible and allowed us a quick stop at a waterfall on our way to oshino hakkai. The car was large, clean and comfortable. The driver was professional and an excellent driver.
