Hello! I’m Your Friendly Guide to Japan’s Kanto Region I’m based in the beautiful Tochigi Prefecture and absolutely love sharing Japan’s amazing culture, history, and hidden spots with visitors like you. Before doing tour guiding, I was a public school teacher, so I’m great at making stories come alive and helping you really connect with the places we visit. I speak Japanese at an advanced level (N2), and I’ve spent a lot of time exploring Japan—from living a year in the peaceful town of Kamishihoro in Hokkaido to wandering the bustling streets of Tokyo. This means I can give you insider tips and deep insights that go beyond the usual tourist trails. *What I Offer* I mainly guide around the Kanto area, which includes Tokyo, Yokohama, Saitama, Ibaraki, Gunma, and of course, Tochigi. Here are some of the fun tours I can take you on: - **Utsunomiya Cultural Immersion:** Spend a day discovering the unique charm and tasty eats of Utsunomiya. - **Tokyo All-in-One:** Explore both East and West Tokyo in a single day for a full city experience. - **Anime & Pop Culture Tours:** Tailor-made adventures based on your favorite shows, games, and characters. - **Kanto Day Trips:** Visit iconic spots like Nikko’s stunning temples or Kamakura’s historic sites. I also love guiding in other parts of Japan, especially Kyoto—I’ve seen every World Heritage Site there! Plus, I often run tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and more, all easy to reach by train. *Customize Your Journey* Every tour is flexible and designed just for you. To make your trip even more memorable, I’ll create a free, beautifully crafted photo album with music from your tour—perfect for sharing or keeping as a souvenir. Yukiko F.
I'm Yukiko. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am 3T lover- Travel, Tea ceremony and Traditional and modern arts. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children. I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide. My main tour area are Tokyo, Kamakura, Yokohama, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Gunma and Nikko. It's a private personalized tour so that I'd be happy to discuss about it with you in advance to make your tour pleasant. We can include Japanese cultural experiences if you'd like. I also have done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. I took the plunge, it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills. I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. I've experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed. I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.

Aiko K.
Hi, I’m Aiko! I love connecting with people and communicating in English, and that’s what led me to start this work. I’ve always wanted to interact with travelers directly and share the charm of the places I call home. While studying abroad, I often talked about Japan with people from different countries. Not only famous destinations like Tokyo and Kyoto, but also my hometown, Gunma, which I truly believe is a wonderful place worth discovering. I enjoy traveling around my local area even on my days off, and I’d love to share that side of Japan with you. I have studied abroad in the Philippines and later spent about a year and a half living mainly in Vancouver, Canada. During that time, I studied at a vocational school while gaining hands-on experience through internships such as cruise planning, SNS marketing, and English conversation programs for Japanese learners. I also worked part-time as a restaurant server, where I interacted with tourists on a daily basis. My goal is to offer experiences that make you think, “I want to come back to Japan again!” I’m really looking forward to meeting you and helping make your trip meaningful and enjoyable through fun conversations and shared experiences :)

Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. Since I have science and technology backgrounds, I can give you a tour of scientific or technical things as well..

“Gunma Tour ”
Knowledgeable guide with lots of experience. He made a change for viewing Sakura which was a good decision which increased the cost of our van. Says that transportation company increased the cost due to the change but I can’t recall being notified of this change. Was also charged with 2900yen of tolls which I paid but was never told about this prior. I paid all of this but don’t think I was told ahead of time

Edward san, Thank you very much for your excellent review for me. We visited Tomioka Silk Mill, Takasaki Daimonya, Daruma, Shiraijuku Yaezakura street and I am pleased that you could enjoy there. Also, we tasted the specialty food of Gunma as Mizusawa Udon noodle that was good for you, I think. We could talk and exchange various information about every tour spots. I am sorry to bother you about the Van taxi fee payment. I hope that you could continue to enjoy your tour in Japan. Thanks, Kashima

“Gunma - Shorinzan Daruma-ji Temple and Tomioka Silk Mill”
Rieko is a very kind and considerate guide. She prepared a customized tour for us and even picked us up from our remote hotel in Minakami. Our first visit location was Shorinzan Daruma-ji temple. We got to view some sites on the grounds, and Rieko guided us in making our own Daruma dolls to take home. She even helped us pick out temple charms, and we got to see the Daruma doll awakening ceremony on our way out. She made a good recommendation about lunch at a hometown favorite place called Shango. I really enjoyed the taste of pasta! The last place we went was Tomioka Silk Mill which is a UNESCO world heritage site. I have an interest in architecture so it was nice to see early style brick warehouse with integrated wooden frames. The structures themselves are impressive and even more impressive was the machines in which silk is processed. Rieko was a wonderful guide who really takes time to prepare for the tour she provides. If I am ever lucky to return back to Gunma, I hope I can participate on another tour with Rieko.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I’m truly grateful that you enjoyed the tour. It was a pleasure to share cultural activities and enjoy Takasaki pasta with you two, as well as to explore the architectural significance of the Tomioka Silk Mill together. Thanks to you, I was also lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the beautiful combination of snow-capped Mt. Tanigawa and cherry blossoms in Minakami. Thank you again for choosing me as your guide.
