My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. “Wonderful Day Tour with Hugh”
We had a wonderful day tour in Hiroshima with Hugh as our guide. He was very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing the city’s history and culture with great clarity. What stood out most was the way he explained everything so clearly that even our kids were fully engaged and understood. His patience, warmth, and insight made the experience truly meaningful for our family. Overall, we feel very lucky to have had Hugh as our guide in Hiroshima, and we would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the city.

“Highly Recommended! ”
We had an excellent Hiroshima tour with Ms. Yukiko and would highly recommend her services. She was professional, polite, and very friendly throughout the day. She assisted us with purchasing tickets for the ferry, shrine, and castle, and thoughtfully pointed out the best photo spots—often offering to take pictures for us. Her knowledge, kindness, and attentiveness made our experience truly memorable. We are very grateful to have had her as our guide and driver.
