“Great full day in kyoto”
Had a great private tour with our new friend Michiko. We felt like we were being shown around by a personal friend. She adjusted the tour to fit our schedule and must sees along with some quiet not so visited spots. Truly a highlight of our Japan trip. I would highly recommend her for Kyoto and any areas she would do.

“Must see Spots in Kyoto and Nara in a day”
From the start, Tomoe is professional and attentive to detail. She ensured that the itinerary was interesting for me , and expressed online and in person her willingness to adapt the itinerary based upon my interest. I personally found the set itinerary of Nara and Kyoto is well thought through as there was no way I could have learnt so much of Nara in such an enjoyable way, and in such a short time! Tomoe is a wealth of information about Nara past and present. Nara is definitely not only about deer and Todaji Temple. I loved the unexpected pit stops of the local mochi shop and the udon lunch spot in Nara Park. Tomoe timed both venues well to ensure we weren't stuck in long line ups as both venues are very popular. Tomoe even offered to guide me through the Botanical Garden that was close by but not part of the itinerary . Very serene and calming. Ending the day in Kyoto by walking through the beautiful tori gates in Fushimi Shrine was a great way to end the tour. Thank you Tomoe for an enjoyable day! PS. Tomoe is also a terrific photographer !

Dear Angela, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! I had a really good time with you, the person who are energetic, hardworking, and like to make plans for the travels, like me. We enjoyed 'girls talk' all day long, right? Travels give us new energy, and precious encounter! I wish I could have spent more time together. I hope that you will come back to Japan and I can see you again. Thank you very much for booking me as your guide. PS. Thank you very much for the compliment for my photographs. I got my ability to take good photos from my late father who was an amateur photographer. TOMOE

“Amazing trip to Kyoto with Tomoe, the BEST guide ever!”
What a wonderful experience we had with our guide Tomoe! We met her at 8:30 in the morning for our first day of touring Kyoto. She took us all over showing us so many great sites.. Temples, Shrines and a castle used by the Shogun. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided a short history lessons for every place we visited. The second day we went to Nara visiting the Buddhist temple, shrines and a park with hundreds of deer that we could feed! Tomoe was extremely organized and we were able to fit a lot in with great lunches as well. We were beyond pleased with Tomoe as our guide. She exceeded our expectations in every way. Don’t think twice.. just book her! You will be so glad you did! She is such a kind, sweet person and we miss her already! Brad and Robin Marshall

Dear Brad and Robin, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! What amazing 2 days I spent with such a nice and funny couple! During the tour on 2 days, we talked, laughed, talked and laughed a lot, right? Thanks to you, I also enjoyed visiting Kiyomizudera Temple, Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji Temple), Tenryuji Temple, Bamboo Forest and Nijyojo Castle on the 1st day, Nara Park, Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Fushimi Inari Shrine on the 2nd day. I was really happy to be able to share the time with you. Yes! I miss you so much, too. I hope that I can see you again! Thank you very much for choosing me as your guide. TOMOE

Absolutely! Kyoto has achieved the perfect balance of remaining close to its historical roots as Japan's original capital, rich in culture and customs, while including modern conveniences and tourist-friendly services. It's one of Japan's most tour-conscious cities, next to Tokyo.
That's a tough one! Kyoto has history, slow living, and breathtaking landscapes. Osaka has fantastic food and modern conveniences and is slightly more affordable.
Osaka is great for;
Kyoto is ideal for;
The greatest thing about these two cities is that they're just a train ride away from one another. So whichever you decide, the other option is only 15 minutes away.
Kyoto is often considered more beautiful than Tokyo because of the visually stunning architecture and Edo period buildings, especially those that highlight the nagare-zukuri style. It’s almost like a time machine. City lovers will consider Tokyo more beautiful thanks to its glowing billboards, high-end hotels, buzzing restaurants, and nightlife. Our recommendation? See both and decide for yourself. Tokyo and Kyoto are only 2 hours apart.
