Hello, welcome to my page! My name is Midori which means GREEN in Japanese. You can call me Midori or Green. I grew up and have lived all my life in Yamanashi Prefecture where Mt. Fuji is and it is only 2 hours bus riding from Tokyo. In my spare time, I hike and play badminton. I also like spending time with my two cats in my free time. I became a National Licensed Tour Guide in 2014, but I started working as a guide mainly in 2023. I worked for an English conversation school in Japan for 23 years and was teaching English and also helping Japanese students to become better English speakers. I realize that teaching and guiding are similar because the essential thing in both is that I could entertain people and I can respond to their requests. When I was in my 20s, I visited many countries. There I had locals or other tourists help me a lot, which made my time unforgettable. The Ochudo, also known as Middle Road, was a special trail for ascetic practitioners that circled Mt.Fuji at the level of the fifth station. The trail is adorned by beautiful flora such as Japanese larch, Rhododendron, and Lingonberry and offers a majestic view of Mt.Fuji. The trail continues to Okuniwa, as Inner Garden which used to be a lateral crater. As it is named, pine trees and volcanic rocks create artistic landscapes by all nature.

We are going to hike from 1st station to 5th station on Yoshida trails. Climbing season over 5th of Mt Fuji is from July 1 ~ Sep10. However, you can hike from the first station to fifth station on Yoshida trails in most seasons. You see many plants along trails and see a few lakes if the weather is good. I recommend these people who come to Mt Fuji out of climbing season or who would like to experience not too hard climbing.

“Do this if you want a fuss free holiday!”
From planning to the actual day, it was a breeze communicating with Chinami-san. She is very responsive and clear and I know she carefully and thoughtfully did the planning based on what we wanted to do. We visited the wind caves, motosu lake, did Muscat grape picking and some wineries for wine tasting. Chinami-san is knowledgeable about the history of the Mt Fuji area and is generous at sharing. We learnt a lot about local farms and fruits and forests. Highly recommend!

“10 star experience! if you only do one thing - do the.”
If we could give 10 stars, we would. The Mt Fuji trip with Kaori (and her husband Ichiro) was the highlight of my wife and mine trip to Japan. When booking, I asked Kaori for very specific trip, and she tailored the day trip for us. Despite the weather (torrential rains), it turned out to be the best experience. The most important part – this did not feel like a tour – it felt like a couple showing another couple the place where they live (Kaori is from Mt. Fuji area) and giving us a personal view of their world.
