Ken was a very kind and thoughtful person. He carefully planned out the day to make sure my customised trip was perfect. Seeing the monkeys was a wonderful experience and could have watched them all day. We spent time in Matsumoto afterwards and went to a local specialized restaurant that Ken had researched so I could try their cuisine. Was a wonderful day - thank you Ken

First of all, I thank you very much for choosing me as the guide. I hope you could have spent wonderful time in Nagano area. Monkeys were so Kawaii = cute, weren't they ? Matsumoto castle was so unique, wasn't it ? Eating the raw hourse meats and the local food Oyaki = a kind of dumpling could be a funny experiences for you. “Zenkoji Visit”

Masa is a friendly and knowledgeable guide. He is considerate. It was a little rainy on our tour date so he brought umbrellas and offered to drive us to the temple so that we would not get rained on. He was knowledgeable about the history of zen and of the temple area itself. He helped us pick out a after-tour snack, participate in free sake tasting, and select temple charms to bring home. If i visit Nagano again, I would be interested in another tour with Masa as there is so much to see around just Zenkoji temple itself.

“Matsumoto Castle and Nagano: a train adventure!”

We had a long but great day with Fumi M. who took us by train from Tokyo to Matsumoto Castle followed by a wonderful lunch which included Buckwheat noodles, something different that we’d never tasted before. Loved the castle and the climb to the top was so worth the effort which afforded some wonderful views and many antique weapons. The Cherry blossoms were in full bloom and looked amazing with so many trees sprinkled about as we made our way along the tour. We stopped at Nagano to visit the Temple which was awesome and inspiring. Loved the town and would have loved to stayed a few days as it was so interesting. Stopped twice at Beni Beni pastry shop not far from the Temple to buy Custard, Apple pie tarts covered with salted caramel sauce - just Devine! Home to Tokyo on the Bullet train to finish off an amazing day. Thank you Fumi for making this day possible and all your help with the organisation. You were a great tourist guide and so good to be with someone who is so competent with the English language .
